i just got back from island park idaho, and i have never riden in so much snow in my life. i was very impressed with my new nytro mtx and so were the other guys( some were mad on how well my stocker did compared to their mods) but i felt i should be getting more out of it. i hope to go back out west this year yet and was wondering if anyone has found a better setup for running at about 6200-8500 or so ft? i have the stock mtx high elevation spring, weights with all 3 rivets taken out and its not that it did bad but felt i could have done alittle better.. please let me know if anyone has found anything better.. thanks

I'm waiting for next season to really dial in my clutching, but Ulmer Racing has a nice kit that a lot of people like.

But stock wise a lot recommend changing to secondary spring to the 2nd hole, if i recall correctly. Supposed to help with backshifting

Glad you had success with yours, but I was very dissappointed with mine first time out. Similar elevations to you but 5-600rpm short with same set-up as you. 8400-8500rpm. Couldn't touch an 800XP 146,and I mean it wasn't close. Got a different primary spring to try next time and a different track as well(Challenger Extreme.)Hoping DJ will get some testing on the Nytro soon. Other than that I love the sled.

XP are a different animal now. I was referring to previous Rev 800.

If it really was your first time out then the rpms will indeed be low because the sled isn't broken in. I kept slowly gaining RPM's until about 800 mile mark it seemed like. BTW, you will never highmark an XP without added HP, the power to weight is just too different. You will get close to Rev Summits though.

This setup STINKS!
I will be removing the 2 gram alum from the toe as well as grinding 3 grams from the heel and running 100° next time out.
