Hi, have a used mpi supercharge kit. How does the oil system works? Is it separate or do I plug it in with the motor oil system? If it is separate wich oil do I use? And is it necessary with extra gauge? oil, boost etc
The supercharger itself has it's own oil system.Use only the oil recommened.I would sggest going to MPI's website and read though everything. You will gain a lot of knowledge by doing it.I would always run a boost guage when you and air to a motor.

super charger oil
There should be a black aluminum canister that mounts in the nose of the sled. It is clearly shown in the instructions. There is two oil lines on the blower...one supply and one return. Both go to the oil canister. The blower pumps the oil itself. You must use the traction oil made for the blower. It's about $100 a quart from Ulmer if I remember right.
Once you get the system done and running, make sure to look in the oil canister to make sure it is pumping oil when engine is running. Use a flashlight to look through the canister fill plug and you should see a small flow of oil running down the side. It doen't pump a lot of volume.
We have found it a good idea to put a catch container on the vent line from the oil canister. Without it, you end up with a little oil under the hood and possibly on you belt.

Call ulmer or MPI. they sell a kit that has the filter and oil. You want a new filter. It's cheeper than a new blower.

MPI's web site also has a page to download the installation instructions, which is a must if you haven't installed one yet.
http://www.mountainperformance.com/File ... 20pics.pdf
That should get you there, and if for some reason it doesn't, it's the first link at the top of the list when you click on the "Support" tab from their home page.
I'ts a good idea to print out the instructions for setting up the control box and have them laminated so you can carry them with you when you ride. You're gonna need it..

Please add you location to your site profile, per site rules. Thanks.
As a new kit, the blower comes with the oil in it with the lines capped off.
There is a section in there about oil, thats the black canister that mounts under the nose, and the filter is the smaller black in-line casister. Both of which you should have?

You have everything you need there. The lines attached to the blower are the oil filer (small inline with the label around the end) and the oil tank is the larger one with the knurled cap and the brass fittings. You will need to separate the lines somwhere (I'd say at one end of the filter) to fit them in around the front of the bulkhead and bumper support, just be careful not to loose much (if any) oil! MPI is pretty proud of that blue mystery fluid, and at $80 a pint, you can't hardly afford to!

Ulmer sells the oil. $130 for a quart and $50 for the filter. I think its gold
