Im happy with the sound, it's not much louder then stock, the video makes it sound louder then it actually is, and the drone is almost gone now, and I never lost any horsepower or rpm's because of this, my sled was gutless before and after this mod, im not impressed with this sled, my last 4 stroke i promise.

MountainMax drive your sled any way you want!!! You live in a area where noise is not a problem and should not be bashed for it!!!

Thanks Cat hunter, people love to bash around here.
IM so use to my Modded Mountain Max with 165 HP and lightweight parts so the apex does feel overweight and very underpowered to me, who knows in time i may get use to the 4stroke snowmobile. I bought my first 4 stroke dirt bike WR450F back in 06 and it took a full season to get use to it, now i love it and wouldn't go back to a 2smoke bike.... who knows what the future will bring.

Dont get me wrong.. i like the sound of your sled in the videos..
But i too am anoid by the sound of the sled on the trail..
IT sounds good when acceerating and decellerating.. but when at a constant speed. its annoiying..
I dont know why anyone would want it louder..
My brother wears ear plugs riding his Rx-warrior

Not bashing, but where we ride loud pipes do close trails. It is unfortunate that thr R-1 can run any exhaust they want on the street, but we lose trails on our snowmobile. That being said, for me I don't want to hear anymore from my Apex. My Nytro is a different story though,I would love to put a Bender system on it. If it means more miles on a ride, I'll keep it stock though. You are fortunate that where you ride it doesn't matter.

My Apex has gutted exhaust for 4 years and have been checked several times from the trail police with 0 problems here in western Quebec. In my area people cut down trees instead of hugging them !!!

Wisconsin said:I gutted everything in the muffler and it's still not as loud as my older two strokes were. Barely louder than stock when putzing around town/gas stations. No droning and no complaints from my mother/girlfriend that have ridden with me....trust me, I'd hear it from them it was that loud.
How can people honestly complain about these sleds being too loud if they've ridden older sleds that are OBVIOUSLY louder??? I call B.S! I agree that these people should be crusading against people riding off trail, on the wrong side of trail, drunk driving, etc.
I talk to bar owners and other farmers and the biggest complaint is riding off trail, not loud sleds.
Another dip that just does not give a crap that his actions cause non sledders to group together and use the noise he is making as a reason to close land. Like another poster said above.. some people just dont get it.. and most likely never will.
