LOL...ice should be fast as the wind has taken what little snow we had and blown it off so its very patchy,..actually its about perfect for radars, just enough for lube and cooling yet little enough for big speeds..be sure you are studded to come onto lake,or be very careful just driving out onto it without them!!
Sunday should be the day!..sun is in forecast for all next 5 days so sat and sun will be nice...I MAY be out there sat too...but for sure sunday.

Dan, 99% sure Harmony and I will be there Sunday morning, maybe around 10am....Green Cherokee, black Triton trailer...
btw..is Port Sydney Rd considered #10? I am coming over from Parry Sound via hwy 141. Hwy 141 and 11 have been changed somewhat since the last time I came across, do I just continue east?

Yes,141 comes across to port sydney...just stay east on 141 which will turn into port sydney rd,and turns at mary lake's edge and the port sydney town dock is immediately on your left..so unload there...
head out left shore(west side) to first island and we should be right there.

Guys..everything is a go..lakes are fast with little crust and snow patches...we do have the track as well, but some other sections we found even more speed,so we will play wherever the wind is heading to see what we can do..
i ran a 118 on my gps today on our trail ride,so lakes are nice...slider lube would have hit 120 for sure.
Anyone need more specific directions call me at cottage tonight before 11pm if you can....or tomorrow between 9-10am....705-789-8795
I will be in and out from 9-10am so might not be near phone ...leave a VM and try back if you can...
ALL are welcome, its free and for fun...some local guys should have some nice stuff but mostly stock sleds will all be here, surely alot of machs too...so should be fun.
hope to see some of you fellow TY members there.
sunday weather for hunstville area...
Partly cloudy with 30% chance flurries, wind NW 20KM......Hi minus 4c(25f)

Just got back from Mary Lake in Huntsville. I will post some of the results as of 1:00pm. Track was 2000 ft, glare ice with a wicked cross wind. Apex ER which is mine 112.9, Machzed 114.4, other Apex 111, 110.4 87gtnos, Apex GT 108.5, orangecrusher 121.7 but needed more gas. Most 2005 Mach Z's running 114-115. Old CK3 Mach Z's still run good, can't say anything bad about them old girls. 2-3 all up in the high teens. Nice meeting you Dan and your buddies. Will have to talk on the internet soon. Chris-Legend

Great speeds considering the crosswinds. What happened to all the self proclaimed king of the lake machz's.The way most of them talk over at dootalk they all run 125+mph.I'm sure with no crosswind the speeds would have been up 3 or 4 mph at least.

hey chris,
it was great to meet you too,and also was great to meet all you other guys!!!...thanks for all coming out...maybe next season we will be able to do alot more of this on sundays..
Chris,i just wanted to clarify mine ran a 114.6 two times(2000ft) then we moved the gun down later on to 2500ft and i ran a 116.2mph.
I also wanted to let you guys know what got me there...you guys with proline kits,i tried 70,80,90,100,110 degrees wrap..and starting with 70 i gained approx 1.5mph each 10 degrees...then 110 slowed down,so my testing today in 2000ft showed 100 degrees of wrap(9/1) was my fastest(114.6)..all would rev about 11,000rpms.
Next...me and "87gtnos" decided to put my ram air to the test,so i took his stock air box LID and put it on my sled and put my home aid ram air kit onto his sled, and voila,i lost 1.5mph and he gained it...so i beleive the ram air works!
I also found running even less air pressure on floats, was better..i started at 30lbs and then lowerd it even more, the belly pan was only about 1 inch off ice,it was slammed!...that ran best speeds.
I also removed my FIXED driven clutch (Oring setup) and let it float,i didnt find any difference in speed with fixed vs. float.
this controlled distance environment was good for testing as we had it measured and i made one change at time..
all in all i was very happy to beat some machs in 2000 while a few machs were faster at 117 range some were also slower in 114 range...kudos to daryl and eds HOULE/bondi ck3 mach which ran 131.1 2000ft.NICE!
most all apexs and rx1s were on average about 108-113,so i was happy.
the last few runs at 2500ft of 116.2 were a nice end to the day....
I did run a 118 on gps earlier OUT ON LAKE ON LONGER HAUL....So I beleive if i add windage plates and a few other tweaks i might get to 120...would be nice.
thanks guys!

Dan, Did you try the 5-20 synthetic and thin gear oil yet.I swear the engine revs quicker with the redline oil. Also try the cr10ek plugs.I just put them in my sled yesterday and it does seem more responsive. If Mike Knapp and Supertuner say they work that is good enough for me.With the windage plates and the other goodies I bet you will run 120 on that RTX,especially with the slammed down effect the floats give when you lower the air pressure.Great report on the ram air too.Suddenly some mach z's seem in reach huh!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Dan, If you want to gain a good 1.5-2mph put the windshield off the Attack on your RTX and I bet you will you will hit the 120 mark. Also, I tested my Proline kit this weekend with a 23 top gear (both at the same time) and I did gain alot on top end. We used my buddies well tuned F7 to test against. In a 1 mile groomed portion of the trail, he used to be me by a good 3 lengths. Now I just rolled on by and after towards he just let off because I beat him so bad. Top speed on the dream meter was 127 on the DM, which is the best I ever had. The most I ever got was 123mph. This was done on a groomed hard packed trail, so no ice. I know it would be faster on ice. Oh Ya, I had the secondary wrapped at 90 degrees. I think the gear actually helped a little on top.
