My Simons CPR Attak on dyno, WOW

i dyno'd a completly stock apex that read 74.5 hp to the track, a stock but clutched apex would be 83 hp to the track. jeff

Jeff, do you happen to know off hand what HP the RX-1 put to the track (N.A. of course). I'm just wondering how much more efficient the APEX is at getting the power to the track vs. the RX-1.

BTW nice numbers on the APEX kit. What is your guarenteed HP rating going to be for this kit vs. the RX-1 kits?

Edit; Mike, is that a third exhaust outlet coming out through the center of the heat shield? If so what's the reason for it (I'm assuming it's a modded stock exhaust)?

Thanks, Jim

Jeff what made you go to the pure logic secondary fuel controler? Before you were going to build a hope replacement ecu? I would also like to know if your going to make a mountaing specific kit? Amd could we see a pic of the header to see the improvement over the alpine? thanks sorry for all the questions

BlgsRX-1mt, Yes thats a modded stock exhaust system. Just gutted like the RX-1 and its 1 db. quieter than a stock sled. Adding the additional 2" od pipe out the center on can netted 12 HP gain, and 6 db. noise increase. I have fabed up my own silencer that slides into that pipe, that decreases noise by 4 db. I wouldn't need the silencer by any means, but I like to tinker with things, and like to be very stock like quiet. I should also get some pics of the optional fan on that very large intercooler. When I first saw the fan I thought it would be like those computer fans, man was I wrong. When you turn that thing on it pulls air through there. Jeff at CPR has a complete line of upgrades available for these kits depending on your needs. Fans, stud kits, gaskets, gauge kits, gauges mounts, louvered panels, plastic dashes, etc., etc. He can give you the specifics on pricing, benefits, etc. I'll see if I can get a pic of the fan under there today, its a neat deal. I can't wait to put it through its paces. It's snowing here now, and I hope to put a few miles on tomorrow before heading to the UP. If not, I feel confident enough running it on the track dyno that everything is good to go. Put 12 miles on track dyno! Sure is gonna be fun! can't wait till it gets completely broke in. Wouldn't doubt the power climbs closer to 268-270 range as it does. What you have to remember though is I added options to the base kit to increase to this power level. I know the stock motored baseline kit he had there is putting out 230 at 7 lbs. and 240 at 8. That was with the extra 2" outlet in the modded can which I think Jeff is going to make stock in the base kit it works so well. Allen Ulmer is doing a baseline kit I believe and should have #'s soon too. Maybe he can get some pics of the header, which shoots exhaust straight into turbo Otherwise Jeff will have to answer some of these questions as far as baseline kit #'s and options. These 4- strokes just simply amaze me in their ability to make power with boost and bring you back home time after time, and put out fuel mileage to boot. Mike Knapp#17

Here is a picture of the complete kit. I think I had all the parts in this picture except the air filter. Sorry, lack of sleep is getting to my brain this week!

Edit: Just noticed I didn't have the 4 hoses to attach the intercooler to the throttle bodies or the 2 silicone hoses running from the turbo to the intercooler in that pic. I told you lack of sleep was getting to me this week.

Here are the pics of the vented blowoff valve, vented outside in front of the a-arms on clutch side. Finished additional exhaust silincer, wraped in header wrap. Fan under intercooler.

summit king, replacement ecu was not possible due to cost effectiveness, i needed to build 100 boxes to get the price down to the 1500.00 range, and people just are not wanting to spend that much reguardless of how good it would be, or all the other neat things that it is capable of doing. the add on fuel controller from pure logic gets the job done, and its very cost effective, derrick fisher is great to work with and his efforts have exceeded all my expectations.

the base kit is 235-240 hp on a stock engine at 8 lbs boost with pump gas, GUARANTEED or your MONEY BACK!!! i spent alot of time optimizing this kit for the base apex engine to sqeeze out every last hp i could, while keep durability, things that were done was improving the cooling capabilty of the intercooler by size, design, and air flow. the fan worked so well that i have decided to make it std equiptment to maintain a higher safe base hp level. we are also using a brand new custom garret ball bearing turbo that has some changes that also optimize the apex system while decreasing heat and backpressure, and i have also made an addition to our std exhaust modification using a third outlet, this outlet also decreases heat and backpressure while improving the hp level by 12 hp.

everything in this kit is targeted at making a simple, yet high hp bolt on kit that doesn't require ANY engine modifications. it is also keep VERY quiet by going through the modified exhaust cannister

IF you WANT to install 3 stk head gaskets, we can give you 265 hp easily with 11.7 lbs of boost on pump gas, but that is your option IF you need the extra power and don't mind the hassle.

The kit also comes with a heat vent that gets any hot under hood air out, and has the air filter placed where lots of cold fresh air can get to it. this apex kit is by far the best turbo kit we have released to date. for those who waited for it, your patience will be well rewarded.

apex kits are IN STOCK NOW!!! and are ready to ship. jeff

Why did you vent the blow off valve around to the clutches. Also, what size turbo is that, the 25 or 28 garret. Looks like a awesome kit and hope it works out well for you.

Nice Job Mr. Simons.................SOUNDS AWESOME ;)! ;)!

Just ran it through it paces in the bean field. All I can say is HOLLY SCHNIKIES!!!!!!!! This sled is so sick!! You really can not use all that power. I really should have done just the base kit. You have all you can do just to hang on. It runs soooo soooo sweet. There is not a burble or a glitch anywhere. Simply amazing. Little fat yet for break in at 10.8 cruising. So I can lean out the boost fuel and richen the main as it is right on at wfo, which you cant hold for very long. I hope it dosnt kick the track out. It is that fast. If you are thinking about turning up the boost like this with the three head gaskets, I would warn you to think about it first. The baseline kit is more than you would need. This much power is more than you could imagine in a trail machine. mulot30, I don't know why you would say that. The Apex makes 150 stock, in fact we dynoed one at 153 the other day. If you knew what Jeff was doing to get that power you would not even question it. The Dyno is accurate. My clutch is not lying either. 81 grams of aggressive profile weight, running 10900 on a engine with only 35 miles on, and you know its a powerhouse. It is very much for real. Jeff is right, this is the funnest machine I have ever ridden. Certainly did not need the silencer out the back, it is so quiet. Can't say enough good things about this package. HYFLYR, you didn't really think I'd blow that air at the clutches did you. See pic, it exits in front of a-arms and down. Will report back after I get back from UP. Mike Knapp#17

All I can say is, that kit looks wild. However, I've ridden, and know of many (not myself these days) that ride trails with over 300HP. Now, I don't think they are set up in the best possible way, but it's REALLY fun sleds to ride, and as long as you have your head in the right place, you can DEFINATLY ride it safe on the trails.

Now, I'd be looking into the CPR kit, if MCX wasn't so close, and I know their kit is bomb proof, and I can hust sit in the car for 5-6 hours if anything goes wrong or I need some mods. Think that kit looks real good, Not too confident on how it is for long trailrides for regarding underhood heat, but atleast we know that he makes some FAST sleds... :4STroke:
