after the sled pretty much fired right up after a couple cranks i drove it outside, then reversed back near the shed, then onto the trailer, and while i was tieing it down, i noticed oil coming from the bottem on the sled which looked like it was coming from infront of the track area. when i baught the sled it did this also for a bit then stopped. I think it may just be chaincase because i heard in reverse theres a breather that when in reverse it pushes oil out?? Pic-

Take a look at the oil level in you oil tank and the chain case oil. Then you will know what system has an issue and go from there.

Check the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSY, which is next to oil filtre. Its part number is 8FP-82504-00-00. On mine phazer it was broken and leaked oil through.
Ps. Sorry about my bad english, ask more if you couldn't understand.

check you chain oil. i ran into a leaking problem like this las season. it ran down the side of the subframe & was dripping out the skid plate bolt. took the panels off & found it was coming from the reverse housing. there is a few seals the dealer replaced & they said the housing needs to be lined up perfect or it will tear the grommet. the 08's had an update for better aligning the housings.
i'll see if i can find the breakdown schematic that the dealer gave me. all they replaced was a grommet & oil transfer tube.
get back with you later, if this is even where it's leaking.

There's a note in the current "SnowTech" magazine that addresses this issue, potentially... assembly misalignment of the Phazer chaincase.
Also gives instructions how to properly align and fix.

Do you have the copy of the snowtech mag giving the instructions on how to align and fix? I replaced the track on my 07 gt and still havent got the case to quit leaking.. any way you could scan and pm that to me? thanks
Found it , pipe grommet leaking . Thanks

exhaust pipe?
No the oil transfer pipe that feeds oil to the reverse gearcase located inside the chaincase at the top. There is a rubber grommet the pipe slides through.

That's great you found it. I had to have the dealer find mine a year or two ago. It was something not lined up like previously mentioned in the chain case. They really had a tough time, then Yamaha may have sent them, or helped them with some aligning tool to get it back together, straight/true.
