Ok, did a fairly major revamp on sled and now have it all together, (subframe removal, so all wiring was moved quite a bit). I started the sled and took a spin in the yard, all was well. Dropped the oil and when I went to restart after changing oil the fuel pump will not engage. I can feel the relay clicking, so I am pretty sure it is good, i can also put a jumper to the fuel pump and make it run. I have torn it apart again and wiggled the main harness, checked connections (all have dielectric grease in them) at the relay and the ECU, with the key on I cannot get the pump to come on at all.
I aslo have rocks grip booster on it and the rollover valve, and neither one of them are working either. The rollover tether does kill the juice, but the valve does not close and the light on the dash does not come on. The handwarmer booster does not light the dash light either when the grips are turned off (like it should)
I am leaning towards something in the ECU unless someone can steer me in the right direction.
The sled ran fine right up until I shut it off to change the oil, and now nothing but cranking and code 43 which I know is the fuel injection system.
Thanks for any help.
Kirk

With all you have done I don,t want to insult you but have you checked the fuel relay. It's the second relay from the back in the four bank relay in the nose. Myself and another buddy had that code last year and it turned out to be the relay itself that failed. $10 for a new one at the dealer

Hey you cannot insult me lol, but yes i can feel it clicking when turning the key on, and even switched it with one of the other relays with no change.
thanks
thanks

Did you check the fuse in the starter relay? There are two fuses in the relay that are for the injection system. The front 10 amp fuse is the one to check and the rear fuse is a spare. If the fuse is good probe it for power.

yes, fuse is good, and pretty sure it is sending power out, but will check again just to be sure.
Thanks

Did you check the grounds? Maybe something came loose on the test run?

If you don't have power at the 10 amp FI fuse check the connector for the ignition key switch. It's been known to corrode and cause intermittent problems.
I don't think it's the ECU if you hear the relay click. The fuel injection system relay's control coil is powered through the ignition fuse located in the fuse box when the key switch is turned on and grounded through the ECU. If the relay clicks then both are present. The FI relay when energized by the ignition provides power from the 10 amp starter relay fuse through it's contacts to the fuel pump and injectors. The pump is grounded through the chassis. It's possible the relay contacts have failed. You can check the relay by swapping it with the fan relay which is furthest toward the rear.

thanks guys, i did swap out the relay with one of the other ones and no change. I had thought about the ground, and maybe i did not get one back where it belonged, but cannot find one. All of my connections have been bathed in Dialectric grease pretty much since new, but guess anything can happen.
the only thing I did that makes me suspect the starter relay as grizz says as i had to take the oil tank loose to replace the hose between the tank and motor, and wondered if I did something while in there. I will start there tonight and see what I can find.
Thanks guys

Did you hook up the ground wire in the nose of the sled near the ecu/voltage regulator? Usually on one of the 8mm bolts holding the ecu in place.

Since I have put the turbo in, lots of the stuff in the usual place is not where it was LOL. I will have to check to be sure. Do you remember if this ground comes out of the harness by the ECU, or somewhere else? I looked around to see if I had missed one, didn't see one, but could have.
more things to investigate tonight.
thanks

Should also mention this sled is using a msd pump, but it is using the same power and ground wires that the factory pump used.

Might want to check your ground block?

Ok switched relays again and no change. I have power on the starter relay. On the fuel pump relay I only get juice on the red/white wire and never get juice to any of the other 3 connectors. When touching one with test light I hear the relay click but nothing changes. When I touch the terminal in the same position on the fan relay the fan comes on. Maybe this tells u electrically talented guys something but it doesn't mean much to me lol

have you tried to power it by using a fused jumper on the relay terminals to power the pump to see if its not a faulty pump? Its usually terminal 30 to 87 but make sure u use a fused link as not to short anything (10 amp would be perfect)

Did you paint your sf? we have had problems with paint enabiling a solid ground.
