Need expert advise on reparing bulkhead

Because it costs more and involves more labor than its worth when you have the option of repairing it in a manner that could make it stronger than original.

If its done right !!!!

cost about 150.00 for a used bulhead + Rivets and some of your time

The bulkhead are cheap.

It's the time and lots of works. Both bulkheads have to be removed so that you can change one side.

I figured I would try fixing it with the bracket. I really don't think I will have a problem with it. I wonder if I hit again what will break next? If the bulkhead resist, then probably the spindle will give up. Did happen to me on my 04 Warrior, crossing x-tracks, spindle casing broke rright in the middle.

I had mine welded and am ready to install it .
Broke off almost exactly as yours. What a pain in the #*$&@ to remove it! Like you said both sides had to be pulled and all rivets drilled. Pry bars etc. Lots of time and cursing. LOL! I had my welder fill the broken peice completely and add a little more for for extra strength. He was a aluminum specialist welder for 35 yrs and has since retired. Still does some jobs at his speed. He told me his weld will be equal or stronger than the original b/c he added some more meat to it. I'm also thinking on something similar over the weld like you did yummy. Cost was $80.
Too bad I went to all the time of removing both bulkheads before I met this guy. He could of welded it right there in place on the sled!
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers,
Rick.
