the local shock guy is rebuilding my GYTR shocks in my 2006 Yamaha apex GT and has a hard time getting the specifications from Yamaha

he needs to know at what depth you should set the IFP and how do you measure it and what pressure to set the shock at..

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

my shock guy rebuilt these for me a couple of years ago but he must not have kept the specifications... Yamaha is being hard about getting them

Call Mike @ Carver Performance. If there was a shock spec I needed and couldn't find it he has been very good about giving information.

Try Pioneer Performance, ask for Bruce.

Front GYTR
I set mine with the reservoir removed just so the piston was about 1/2 in. off bottoming with reservoir fully seated.I then bled the shock through the compression adjuster. 190 psi and 10wt Amsoil.

Math would be depth of external thread bung on shock for rezzy + 1/2in.

Soqi/GYTR are a pain to refresh.May need a little heat and a good strap wrench to remove reservoir.

Rear shock is Ohlins.I used modified Carver valving,10 wt Amsoil, @ 233 psi,Initial IFP at 1/8 up from bottoming.Piston comes up further when sealhead is installed.
