Need help to decide between BTX and XTX please...

I went with the BTX LE I'm coming off a nytro xtx 1.75 I figured if I needed to I would cut the 2.25 down to 1.75 I wanted the shock package. The Btx should be an awesome crossover!

Unprecedented power for a stock sled. I would vote 153. You will need a lot of track to harness the power especially when off the hardpack. Re track choice 1.75 is the limit for any serious trail ride on hardpack imo.

I second that! You would just chew up your slides and shorten the life of the track by a lot if it was anything more then 1.75".

I had both the nytro xtx with the 1.75 track and now coming off of a viper xtx with a turbo...sled is so much better but the track was a huge disappointment, I loved the backcountry track on and off trail, it hooks up and pulls so nice. Needless to say I went with the btx with the 1.75" and can't wait, Yamaha rep told me not much noticble difference with the front on the trail but a lot better off...supposed to get snow here this weekend in upstate ny but the sled isn't in yet!!!!

What I have done is bought an XTX, but I purchased 153 rails and a 2.25 PowerClaw track for mountain riding and deep off trail. The suspension components bolt into both styles of rails and the only change are the rails. This way you can have 2 sleds (theoretically speaking)

Hi Nos-Pro can you tell me if it's difficult (long) to switch the whole rail with track at once? I am thinking what you are saying and like the idea to purchase a second kit with the 2.25 / 3po slugs. But would like to change the whole thing at once and not only the track... So you know, I bought the btx 153 that comes with 1.75 and would like a second track with 2.25 (or up to 3po) for deep snow.. What do you think, would that be the easiest solution?

Hi Cos, that is what I would do....purchase the 2.25 track and I know there are some people on here that have an 8 tooth 3" pitch axle that you could probably buy from them. Since the axle has to come out anyway...I would just swap axles and track for different snow conditions. Done it quite a few times so it only takes me about an hour to swap tracks.

And it can be done without draining the engine oil

Hi,

I am looking to purchase the new Yamaha Sidewinder . However not sure which one would better suit my needs between the two models I set my mind to: XTX and BTX

I do half trail and half backcountry… I like long tracks on a sled but also do lots of trail so I need a sled that’s good for anything. Not only for mountain but not only for trail either…

I am hesitating because the two mentioned above have slight differences and not sure. I tend to go more for the BTX but then again… Anyway first would be to decide between BTX models or XTX models… Then LE or SE

Appreciate if you can help me out on this…
XTX-se
