hey guys, i read alot of post and couldnt make my mind! I was wondering if a 2.25 powerclaw or 1.75 with 141 track 1100 turbo would perform well in deep snow and the backcountry or its too heavy? i have a AC crosstour 9000 2014 with adjustable springs in the front and rear fox float 2 with the air pump (its like a highcountry but with a 1.25 stock lug and i do NOT have the 153 tunel! I have a alot of power line near my spots and open spaces. Quebec area. The sled will be moded to 260+ maps also.
What setup would you recomend.
Reason i dont want to sell and buy another one is The sled is a 2014 Mint with 5k and i did all the update for chaincase etc.
Im far from burantd but a good rider with a fast learning curve

move this to the viper section as a few of the members have done this.
i would go with the set-up for the 1.75 as it will still trail ride well and have the extra bite for in the powder. i off trail with a 1-1/4" ripsaw on both apex xtx sleds till this season. the 11 got an 1-1/2" talon 144" as it was cheaper than the ripsaw and i have seen it hook up well on a guys rx1 extended to 136". see how it is this season but it is mainly the gf sled.

Sounds like the 2.25" pc is the track for you , that's what I run on my turbo viper mostly off trail but handle's great on trail too as long as it's not real hard pack, even then with scratcher's my temps stay in the normal operating range.Would it be a big difference between 2.25 and 1.75 . Long story short my sled started as an ltx dx 137 and basically converted to an mtx 141, I run a 38" mountain spindle front end and cat pro climb 7 ski's, the wider skis are worthy improvement, being an ltx dx it already had 24 50 gear's I just put in 7 tooth driver's, it's also got an mpi turbo and a host of mountain oriented amenities.Cool thanks like that its very clear. Not sure what the snow is like around you but near me in the Midwest a 2.25" deep snow specific track (taller/flexible lugs) is going to take a beating riding on the trails. I run a 1.75" Backcountry track and in my opinion the taller/stiff lugs offer a great compromise between snow moving and robustness.
I saw a big difference between my XTX with a 1.75" track and a buddy with a 1.25" Ripsaw track riding off trail, way less trenching. I ride enough trails with friends/family that I wouldn't want anything taller.

I realy dont care giving up some trail for riding deep stuff. But is the 1.75 enough for the weight? Im alone most of the time so im trying to put the odds with me.
Also when i trail ride i dont realy like top speed, I prefer to accelerate hard and cruise around 50 60mph i rarely go over that excepte on lake
But once againt i would.like to make my sled more offtrail moutain capable, wich is the part of this sport i prefere and didnt know when i bough the sled first.
Thank you all for your time. I prefere getting you guys opinions than any other redneck who says anything just to look PRO. ( If you dont know, dont talk ) XD

If you are riding alone off trail you need the biggest lug longest track and skis you can fit. Along with a good shovel! Nothing worse than being stuck alone. Sometimes its even tough to flip the sled over much less pull it out. I see lots of guys cruising the trails on Big tracks at 50mph. They just take it easy looking for another off trail spot.

Power claw for off trail, 1.75" bc for trail with light to moderate off trail, I spin that power claw on trail till I run out of gear at 98 mph with no issues.
