I did notice the boards are a bit wobbley .. the sled had actually been hit in the left side running board no real damage but I think the stiffners would be a must have for mine seince it's already been Compromised, bulk head savers look like a must have too..Here is my Attak. You can see the WRP and Muffin Works tunnel stiffener.

Oil tank saver looks like a cheap and easy prevantative fix for what would be costly repair .. simply add rubber bushings and a hose extension ... I'm thinking I could come up with something just like that from Lowe's hardware isle for like $15

Forgot I did that too. I liked the ease of Travis' kit. Truly plug and play and his customer service is top notch.

The purpose of the temp guage is to save the sliders. These machines have so much torque that you can be chewing through slides and not even notice. Duponts work but dry is dry and even they will wear at warp 5. Lack of snow dust means temps go up and slides heat up. Yes you can change the coolant but your temp will still go up in low snow conditions. Everyone I ride with ,that have factory temp, monitor and ride accordingly, these sleds should have it. I never worry about engine overhear because the sled does have a good protection system.

So ur suggesting the rear cooler ? I'm not sure what you mean by temp gauge and hyfax ?.. maybe I'm reading this wrong... But ur saying when the motor is running warm , so is the skid? The purpose of the temp guage is to save the sliders. Rear cooler is good but not necessary, they are expensive new and hard to find used.
Yes if there is not sufficient snow for engine cooling then your hyrax will most likely also suffer because they are lubricated by the snow.

I dropped two sizes down on top gear in chaincase on my ole mxz ,, brought it to life ! Have u guys done anything like this ? I'm more concerned with snappy trail riding than doing 130 on a lake ,

If you have little to no seat time ride it first. These 4cyl. sleds have so much power stock, your arms at the end of a ride will be an inch longer.I dropped two sizes down on top gear in chaincase on my ole mxz ,, brought it to life ! I have 5350 miles on my Apex, the only thing that has been done is a left handwarmer, battery, oil changes, oh and a couple skid wheels and that's it.
I did upgrade to a tall windshield, Rock's HID lights, LED lights for my handguards, mirrors, dual carbides (darting gone 100%) and 96 studs down the middle of the track. The Hyfax is original and still looks good.

Dude, don't worry about the rear cooler. I ride questionable conditions all the time. You know what it's like in upstate. The slides wear down really quick and then they stop wearing just before the indicator line. I get about 4000mi out of mine. 13000 mi. on my sled I know. Meet us tomorrow at 46 corners at 8. You can ask me questions all day if you want. I'll be with couple new cats. A turbo and a Roger Skime edition 600. Maybe others. It's gonna be busy up there this weekend. I dont know where these people ride that have overheat problems I haven't had a problem since i changed the coolant.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that with the torque of these 4-strokes, dropping sizes off the top gear will not achieve the same results as a 2-stroke. Instead, you want to increase the bottom gear. The only time I messed with gearing was on my 03 RX-1 where I left the top gear stock but changed from a 39T to a 40T bottom gear. What can make this gear change a little more expensive is if you have reverse as the bottom gear is different for reverse models (i.e. 40T bottom gear is cheaper than 40T reverse bottom gear).

I
Im not well versed on the 4 stroke world , but gearing is gearing .... Smaller top (drive) gear means more rpms for same givin speed = more tourque ?Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that with the torque of these 4-strokes, dropping sizes off the top gear will not achieve the same results as a 2-stroke. That's awesome , thanks for the good info ! I've had many sleds and never overheated , even old fan cooled Polaris.. im excited to ride this beast , it sounds so nasty compared to my 2 smoker ..one last ride in before it's all gone ! I will be up in Camden headed towards highmarket ect later in the day ... Gotta work and pay for all this new #*$&@ lol I'll be looking for a red Apex with red skis .. I got the black Apex with black gear but a blue and white jacket .. I'll be looking !
