New 2013 early release Yamaha snowmobile very disappointing

Not sure what to make of this but it doesn't look like anything in the current lineup. What do you guys think?

Even though this was a bit of a disappointing release, it is only one sub model.

My father always told me "The best predictor of of future behavior is past behavior" (I hated when he said that!) so I get why everyone is upset about it, but I am going to wait for the rest of the lineup before making my opinion on the 2013's.

If they have something new or a major upgrade I don't thing they would release it just yet. They still have 2011/12's to sell though.

Hopefully they have something in store for us with the rest of the sleds.

But why even bother with an early release? Usually, it's reserved for sleds with a "Wow" factor. This release is an embarrassment for Yamaha.

Maybe they removed a few pounds with the new skis and shocks, however they gained it right back with the under tunnel heat exchanger + coolant.

That video made it sound like losing 5 lbs of weight was a big deal....seriously???? they are gonna hang their hat on 5lb weight reduction and a 1.75 track??? COME ON YAMAHA!!!! wake up! frustrating for sure....

GM did the same , built Cadillacs when people were not buying , were did that get them. besides bailed out.

I assure you when Yamaha does come out with a new machine it will blow your socks off , just wait , I will.

I've been out of the industry for awhile, but with sled sales being down overall the last few years, this means less R&D $$$ being invested in new product. I can't imagine much changing in the current chassis's because I doubt they have made a profit or enough of a profit to justify to the bean counters a wholly new model. When the economy crashed, I looked at the current model lineup, "New Nytro" and knew we would be riding these sleds for awhile, at least a couple more years than the OEM's had originally planned, since it would take longer to recoup investments.

Bad snow years can hurt sales and have a similar effect on new products, and I can't remember a poor snowfall like this year. I have yet to plow or snowblow any snow yet, I have had exposed grass in my yard all winter, & I only live 2 hours from Canada.

As far as new product goes, the end of the video teases us with a kids sled, that would be real cool, since sno scoots are still in demand, and Yamaha didn't have a offering. 10 Years ago I had to buy a honda powered SkiDoo Mini Z for the kids. Now they are teenagers, & as soon as the economy gets moving, I'll buy new Phazers, but it won't be this year.

As some have already said, keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed, AND that is disappointing, I know.

Not too disappointed as I knew a few seasons ago that I would be sitting out the current yamaha product cycle.

The thing is when people leave for a different sled maker, it is hard to get them to come back. This just keeps blowing my mind. Year after year, the same sleds gets released. I feel sorry for dealers and sales reps. Like, how are you supposed to keep selling your product.... Its just very disappointing.

yawnnn.Yammie is 4 years behind and now falling farther back with the belt drive from poo and maybe doo.If they never had good engines nobody would ride a yammie.Yamaha this was the biggest joke of the year and to think the guy on the video was happy.LOL

My dealer laughed when I asked him about the variant model release.......he said, Ive got 2 xtx's in crates I can't sell now!!! So they bring out an xtx with a big track????

Kind of glad I bought the HCR 1100 turbo now.......and I was going to hold out for something new from Yamaha in 2013!.....maybe in 5 more years they will wake up and smell what the competition is cooking......too late! :moon:
