New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Can not see yamaha ever making another 2 stoke. In my opinion I see emissions becoming very strict in the near future.

As a spring buyer all the rumors are fun to read but I've come to the opinion that I will just have to wait till the release date. I did hear from my cousins buddy three times removed on his sisters side that his uncle from Canada had heard! LOL! Can't wait but not wishing the season away!

Yamaha Rep said he's telling the dealers up here on Jan 20... That can't come fast enough for me!

A big, direct injected triple triple two stroke with 170+ hp in a new lightweight but bulletproof platform? We can dream, can't we? I love my apex, especially the motor, but a 4 cylinder four stroke fires fewer times per revolution than a 3 cylinder two stroke, so...

Had a triple triple making 172 hp. My Apex is faster and as quick. I think I'll stick with the fourstroke.

Don't need a big triple to achieve those numbers any more 800 twins of older design are almost there. If AC drops there new 800 it will be an even more awesome sled than it already is. Regardless 2 or 4 stroke. What I would like to see is a remake of the SRX, and VMAX4 for 2017 / 2018 2 and 4 stroke. LOL

Actually Yamaha has the least invested in the snowmobile biz far less than the other three. Being last in sales means you are the first to go in lean times.
That's because they choose to be, if they wanted to be first they would but apparently they are content with just being different.

If I had a dime for every time I've heard that same old line n the last 13years, man.

The big twins are fine, if you like rebuilding and maintenance involving splitting the cases. A big triple doesn't just have the horsepower, it also has more low end torque, a smoother power band and an intoxicating sound. The Yamaha triples also happened to be extremely reliable. It's a damn shame the triples died out, imagine a direct injected triple triple with electronic power valves and oil injection. How about nearly 200 hp from an 800?

Yamaha could definitely build a DI triple triple that would kick #*$&@ if they wanted, but I don't think they will go away from 4 strokes. They are missing out on a big market though because a lot of people still ride 2 strokes. Yamaha could build the best 2 and 4 strokes if they chose to.

So you are here to complain about what Yamaha offers I take it. Sure seems that way. You are concerned they may leave the market or that they are last in sales. Go buy something else then. Why do you care?

The thread is about new 2017's so it doesn't appear they are leaving the market just yet.

No I am here to state what Yamaha doesn't offer. And if you are so sure Yamaha can build the best snowmobile out there, which they don't! then you should speak up to hold your manufacturer accountable to what they say. Not just defend empty words and hope for the best, Yamaha hasn't built a new design snowmobile since the Nytro. And we all know how long that model lasted and how good it was, as far as the Viper it isn't even a Yamaha. I have no concerns if Yamaha leaves the industry, the reason is they are showing no real interest in the snowmobile division as they have demonstrated over the last 12 years. How can I be excited about an Apex design that is 11 years old or a Viper that is practically an Arctic cat and now with the team industries clutches coming on 2016 AC models why would you even need to look at a Yamaha. It's not that I can't go buy something else from another manufacturer that has equal and or better products than Yamaha, it's that I am being forced out by my own manufacturer because they don' offer what I want.

Yamaha is there to make money not to make every persons ideal sled. Five years ago I was saying same stuff about polaris so I switched brands will stay yamaha.
