New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Here on the east coast ,our winter has been just downright terrible so far..Plenty of rain for sure, with minimal snow mobiling .May have to ditch the sled for the season and maybe consider the idea of investing in a Yamaha FxSHO waverunner at this point ,it may be more practical than the new sled concept. This winter has been a total washout and waste of money registering, insuring, trail passes ,for what ?,one weekend out on the sled and the rest of the season just sitting there !Maybe the right time to focus on the waverunner idea ,at least it's useable 7 months of the year and less costly to ride. This ElNino weather pattern ruined our season so far.
I didn't even get one ride...And yes i bought a pass!!!

If you look the sled in the video has a grab bar! take it for what its worth!

wow you trail guys really need to go to the mtns once in awhile lol,in bc it depends on how big the trail systems are to what you pay for a trail pass.
in revelstoke you pay 25$ a day if you dont buy a year pass, its 200$ for the year, where i live most clubs are 50-100$ but are trail systems are small.
for the size of your trail systems what you pay is not that bad,oh & you need to ride a trail to get to most mtn riding areas.

I think the 4 stroke turbos are doing well in the mountains. I think it's going to get bigger and bigger. They'll get lighter.

4 stroke turbo sleds make up probably less than 5% of the mtn market, mtn riding has changed so much in the last 5 years.
everybody wants to be chris burant these days, your not cool if you dont smash off trees all day long & side hill 90% of the time lol.

Yukon Yamaha made me think of something . Maybe the 2 stroke shows in the sno-bike? They still make 2 strokes for YZ. So maybe a cross plane 4 in the apex and a 2 bike.

It took 108 pages for me to learn a few things. 1) there IS a market for snow bikes. 2) mountain riding is growing & needs light weight 2-strokes. 3) 4-strokes will take over the TRAIL market if the big four will take us there. 4) Mother Nature is a bitch
I'm not getting my hopes up! IMO, With only two teasers and little hype other than TY. My prediction is a factory 1049 Turbo Viper with new plastics and BNG's for the rest. ""YAWN"":bore:!!!! So when's the release date for the ""2018"" sleds !!!!!!

Honestly the just need to make the 1000r side by side into a snowmobile. The suspension, everything. I think that's the next snowmobile motor. 10500 rpm 998 2000 3cyl.

I gotta admit with no new teaser, leak, blog, etc my confidence in an all new top hp or Apex replacement sled has dwindled. :(
Unless they're just relying on TY to keep up the anticipation. It definitely has been doing a good job of it I guess.

There are about as many 4strokes in the mountains as there are unicorns.

Yamaha should release another teaser video or spy pic or something. The excitement those created has seemed to die off and Tuesday is still four days away.

Whether you would buy one or not, you have to admit that the Ski-Doo line up for 2017 has got to be one of the most complete that any manufacture has ever offered. Four 2-strokes, 850, 800, 600, 600 carb, and three 4-strokes, 1200, 900 ACE, 600 ACE. I think it was a smart move by skidoo to continue offering the 800 and their new 850.

skidoo with out a doubt has the most complete lineup of all the manufactures. I don't think any one can truly argue with that. Just the volume of different models offered is unbelievable.

Unless they do a bold (stupid) move and decide not to release it.....they do have at least one all new machine. Again, it's a version of the side by side motor, turbo'd in an all new chassis built in TRF, all new clutches. There is only ONE proto built unless they recently got the production line going. Supposedly close to 200 hp, fast, fast, fast...!!....did I say FAST?? But not cheap......
