When you are challenged on what you post or called out, you resort to this kind of stuff? In the sites I frequent I don't see anybody else making the blatant statements that you are. Everybody is guessing and hoping. You are here saying "I know but I won't tell you". What do you expect? For everybody just to play your silly game?
I'm a realist and I won't play your game. If others chose to, that's up to them. This thread was fun to read until you came around.
I am not playing any game. Anyone that knows me on here will tell you I am a very honest, decent person. The only reason I cannot say the nitty gritty details on the new sled is because he asked me not too. You say you are challenging me because I haven't revealed many details. I am not falling for it. Funny you are the only one that is. Everyone else seems to understand the situation. I respect his friendship and will not ruin that. To be honest I thought someone would get pretty close with a guess but they haven't yet. I almost sent you a PM to let you in on it but now I am glad I did not. There is just a few I know personally on TY that I'd feel comfortable that they would not post stuff.BTW, they do kind of elude to something in the end of the video.

great video. Explains a lot. Thanks for sharing.
It makes me feel better that the AC rep openly accepts yamaha as having better fit and finish. When I look at the viper I don't see a Yamaha product. Hopefully that will change in the next collaboration.

Well, right from that video it was revealed that for the 4 stroke format they are collaborating and the 2 stroke world they are competitors...with NEW joint venture products moving forward...

CR Showed us a picture of circles in the sand and says "if a tree falls in the forest ! Are these REAL hints or are they just random stuff he comes up with. Gota say if he is actually trying to give us something .....its way out there (at least for me)
Also I just have to say this. When I here someone say its a low/no snow year so there wont be any new products.
I could just puke!!!!! it took them how many years to increase voltage to the hand grips and this will be the Fourth year for the Viper, do you think it will have shocks that don't need rebuilt. How can they respond to the weather in one season? ....Sorry

Was told years ago by a Yamaha employee that by this time the contracts for 2017 parts are already in place. That makes it too late to change now due to low snow. My guess, a Phazer motor in the Viper chassis, or close.
I think the reasoning behind the low/no snow comments has more to do with protecting dealers who might be sitting on a lot of 2016 MY inventory. It's not the same thing as saying that an OEM has no new product(s) to bring to market, but rather to suggest that an OEM might hold off doing so until its dealers can move some of last years sleds off showroom floors.
Some will say hogwash ... that the OEMs don't give a rats butt about dealer inventory. But any OEM that doesn't look to protect its dealers will quickly lose them to one that does. So there is some credibility to the low/no snow argument in my opinion. On the other hand, OEMs will have to weigh this against consumer demand for new products and decide whether doing one thing over another will be more profitable or make them more successful in the long run.

I never believe any of the "insider" rumors I read on here before new product release time. With that being said, however, I don't doubt Journeyman at all. He's been on here for a long time from back in the old TY days like I have been. He's never been anything but a great TY contributor and isn't one to cause drama. If he says he knows, then I believe he knows.
The video above made me feel better about the whole Yamaha situation. The viper never grew on me because I still view it as a cat with a Yamaha motor stuffed into it. Future sleds though will likely be developed & engineered jointly from the ground up! That could make for some exciting products with a fit/finish and reliability more inline with a traditional Yamaha product.

At the Viper release event we were told by a Yamaha employee that Yamaha had some very impressive prototypes that just never made it to production. Assuming it was related to timing and the need to see profits. As time went on it looks like the AC thing was chosen as a better, more profitable way to proceed. Might also have been because they had held back so long they fell behind. Hopefully some joint engineering with AC will produce some impressive new sleds. My dealer has told me a few times that many in Yamaha don't see sleds being a big enough market to allow the profit they want to see. Who knows, Chris Reed talks about major reorganization, maybe something big is in the works.
