I'll never understand why they stopped making the apex mountain, throw and factory turbo on and way to go!!Apex engine in a light new 100 % Yamaha mountain chassis with turbo! Not a yamacat! And in that chassis you can get 3 different engines to chose about and ofcourse all 4-stroke engines

This might make a ton of sense ! With the anniversary coming up next year this would make a great first release. Viper frame with new light weight parts . A new engine based off of the FZ-07 motor get it up around 100/110 hp . Save the APEX for next year! and coming in around 6900$ SOLD !

I ain't waiting another year for the Apex. Phazer came out (or was reinvented if you will) after the Apex . The Apex replacement is due now. This might make a ton of sense ! Yup, the Phazer came out in model year 07 and has seen little in advancement. There are only a couple of models left, the RTX and the XTX. They seem to be phasing out the Phazer. But that 500cc motor has plenty of life in it.

We could get to 1000 pages on this thread and nobody will get it. The ONLY WAY it'll get out on this board is if Yamaha tell's Mr. Sled that's it OK for HIM to tell the truth.

Do you remember the winter just before the first SR Viper came out? That was the thread that was like a million pages.... and SEVERAL people knew it and posted their info long before the release! Not that I'm going back to look but hey this could be a great thing! At this point anything new & from Japan will be happily received I thinkWe could get to 1000 pages on this thread and nobody will get it. Not even sure if Tom knows. They have been super secretive and VERY few have been in the loop.
A 100% Yamaha sled from Japan for their 50th (next year). Interesting that their new sport SxS motor is UNDER 1000 cc to get around paying extra import duties and taxes.... Maybe Yamaha branded motors built in the USA...?
I've got an idea to test your sources, Journeyman. Why don't you PM Tom with whatever it is you've been told (provided Tom is sworn to secrecy of course) and Tom can reveal if your information is correct after Yamaha's big reveal. Not even sure if Tom knows. I don't have to test my source, its that good. Only you are doubting me, I am not. So there is no use in what you are asking me to do. Also I am not that worked up about it, I am not buying anything new anyways. If Tom does know he isn't going to say anything anyways. Why would he? I can tell everyone this much, Yamaha isn't getting out of the sled biz anytime soon.

The side by side motor is under 1000cc as there are many states that have a law that limits them to that. All the manufacturers agreed to stay under that. If they go over then they are no longer treated as ORV's and considered cars and then have to meet all the safety specs cars do.
I'm not worked up about it either. For the record, I've already jumped ship. The incentives currently being offered for some '16 MY sleds from another brand were too good to pass up, so I'm going to try a different brand of 4-stroke. I based my decision on more realistic factors, rather than being delusional about the sort of sled I'd love to have. For me, it came down to looking at the type of riding I most often find myself doing versus the riding I'd being doing if I lived in a different part of the world. I'd probably hold out another year to see what might be coming if I thought for a minute that Yamaha was going to bring something for the off trail segment. But sometimes you gotta face facts and realize that the type of conditions you long to ride just don't exist in your neck of the woods. Yamaha doesn't really make the sled of my dreams, but even if they did I would have very limited opportunity to ride it. So I guess I bought something that I believe will fit what I do most often, which is trail ride. I took a good look at the manufacturer's engine building prowess before deciding on this sled and I will say this ... Don't kid yourself about the quality of the other brands' ability to design and produce a good motor. The sled I went with seems to be panning out as pretty reliable so far. We'll see.
