New Engine in 2016 Vipers and Other Changes

Is there a set build date where the new engine was put in the 16s? My father is picking one up this week that has been sitting on show room floor at local shop

And does anyone have a pic of the tuner 2 skis Vs the tuner 3 skis? If it has the tuner 3 skis should it have all the new engine parts?

Don't no. But us Canadians are getting all the old over stock parts.
Not true. Is two original motor 16's by me.

Here is good pic of starter

Looking for Vector motor pic but sure looks to me like on this one above the current headers won't fit.

$10 bucks says you won't see starter gear or starter failure anymore. From pics the starter itself is different. It's filled in between the mounts and the idler gear looks to be narrower. Looks just like Phazer one I beat on with sledge. That issue may have had some bearing on this. Just trying to be glass half full here.
Are the starter part number the same on the new motor?

I need to look that up. Good suggestion Trevor.

I would like someone to explain to me how a stud for rod cap is stronger than bolt and pinned cap like old. Also before you could replace the bolt every time now what. Replace whole rod? And why is a pressed together crank stronger than forged? I just don't see how the stronger statements are justified?

I dont know guys. I have been looking at 16 Vector Service manual and to me it looks like head,Valvecover, and adjuster are different but bottom end is same. Starter part numbers are same. Kinda thinking I dont know what this motor is. If manual is right it definitly is not a YXZ motor but kind of a mix of parts. This is the rods.

I thought that the new engine has bolts now instead of studs, did I read that wrong?

"connecting rods now use bolt with no nuts"

Because high dollar car rods use bolts not studs and nuts. If they switched from bolts to studs and nuts that would be weird.
