I feel that Yamaha missed the boat on the 06 warmers . I find that at idle they just don't heat up. If you can keep the revs up at 7000 rpm's they heat like hell

there is a relay that under 4000 rpm's divert power to the fuel injection system. that is in there so if your battery is a little low the machine will run properly when warming up. so no your grips really won't work at idle, they never will.
