New Maximum sled review

that was one of the best reviews i've ever read
but what they said about having the nytro suspension is true
should of been a option between the two

You know, it is a great feeling reading about the praise of a sled you have out in the garage. Way kool. I can't wait to get my sled out there and let her breathe alittle.

"Yes. I normally shy away from first year sleds, but the protos we rode weren’t ratty duct tape units. They were pretty finished looking and didn’t leave much to the imagination as far as how it would compare to production versions. The only things I think Yamaha reps said would be different was the seat trunk flap and possibly the seat foam. I’ll go on a limb and recommend this freshman package."

Is it me or does it make you think "When was this actually written"

The engine is the best part about this sled. The rest is pretty much just comparable to everybody else. The suspension is not the only game in town and that adjuster knob on the side has been known to bust off. However the good definatley outweights the bad. This thing flat out rocks. I guarantee you have never experienced throttle response like this motor before. And it is very concievable that the motor will out live the chassis. No more 2 stroke oil and quieter. Now that I'm older I like quieter. Its nice to be able to hear the guy next to you without having to turn off your sled. It will be interesting to see how this sled matches up to other big iron this winter. We have a couple of new apex owners in my club and we are doing a radar run in early Dec.

Yup. It IS a great feeling. The reviews have been universally great.

It does make you feel great to know that you have one of these sleds sitting in the garage execpt for the fact that you have no snow..LOL

SNOW ALREADY,, I CANT WAIT

Adjuster knob known to break off? Never heard that one before.

You heard it now. Saw it happen twice last year on 2 different RX-1's with the mono shock suspension.

Also if you take a close look at the guage pod it seems very insecure on there. I wish they would have recessed it like it was on my old GP1200.

The adjuster knob is revised for '06...shouldn't have that problem

I find it interesting that you keep coming up with faults about the new sleds and the in the same breath you compliment them for something like the motor. I think you decided to buy a new Renegade 600 rather than an Attak. It seems like you are still second guessing your decision and you keep trying to convince yourself you made the right move. Only time will tell. I'm sure your new Doo will be great, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Love the one you ride but don't trash the other guy's !!! :rocks:
