I bought a medium as well and it fits poorly on one side (left side as I face the front of the machine or brake side). Good size gap around the headlight pod area. The other side is fine. I will live with it for now and will be picky with the next one. I may switch back to the stock one anyway for the rest of the season.

I put the LOW accessory windshield in black on mine. Its basically the same hieght as the atock Apex RTX and GT windshield with a flair at the top and over the headlights. It directs the air a littel higherup almost over me and also off the handlebars. It almost too warm for me since i sweat fairly easy when riding. Its not enought to make me change because when we do get the cold cold stuff it will be a better windshield.
Here you go from experience with all three heights(stock, med.#sma-8ft96-22-bk, tall#sma-8ft96-30-bk). Stock is way too short no matter what they call it. I used the medium on our trip to Quebec for 2455 miles and it was pretty good. I still thought I wanted the tall so when I got back I swapped it for the tall. The tall has the two braces down to the dash as does the extra tall but I did not install them to see if I liked it first. The tall gives big time wind protection but causes a back draft at high speeds that is colder than the med. is. At high speeds it also pulls the nose cone off the windshield of the headlight pod ( over 100 mph). I took it back and put the med. back on and will keep it. The diference in height of each windshield is 1.75" in the middle section with wider and taller wings as well. Hope this helps, medium is the way to go.

Schoppy, you're my hero. My fog has lifted 100%, and not a moment too soon as I'm ordering my new sled this week, and wanted a windshield upgrade negotiated in as part of the deal. I genuinely appreciate your input and experiences.
