New Sled 2020 sidewinder

Just purchased a new 2020 sidewinder ltx gt yesterday. Pick it up thursday. Great deal with over $2000 rebate on sled from yamaha and can get 1.9% for 36 or 0 for 6 months too. I'm doing cash deal but not bad finance options. You can get 0% for 72 but lose rebate.

In regards to YES warranty...I will have up to 5 year warranty and cost me $450 extra. As most know you can get extended warranty before the base warranty runs out, but you have to do it direct through Yamaha and not dealer. Direct will be no discounts. My local dealer is discounting the extra warranty. Very pleased with deal I'm getting and look forward to new sled. Going from a 14 Alex xtx

WWolf368 - that's the fecken deal I got with my Waverunner. I think I got something like 2.3% until 2022 with 3 years YES free. I have to check now, maybe i can extend it before 1 year runs out. So if I understand, you got a 5 year extended YES warranty through Yamaha for an additional $450 (per year per month?, flat out). Did you get this offer in the mail??

BTW - I'm FEDEX'ing my demand letter to the president of the powersports dealership tomorr0w. I'm asking for sled to be sold at the original email quoted price plus 5 year warranty at the prices stated above. However, now I'm thinking I shouldn't buy any warranty and wait for Yamaha to contact me via the mail. If I remember correctly that's what happened with the 2019 Waverunner. Also I'm thinking I should ask for some accessories to be installed before delivery so the dealerrship he can make money back on the overpriced accessories

So Steve, they quoted you 10,000 for the sled? Then when you got there they said 16,000? Or they said 16,000, and now it’s 22,000? I’m confused lol.

And I agree with the other guys..those warranty numbers are way high imo too.

I am still on my 5 year warranty from my 2017. Best warranty in the business but it also depends on the dealer.

So I got lucky on both.

It seems, the only way to buy a new sled and get a really good price on the 5 year warranty, and get the best of the best, model wise, is to spring check! That’s how it has worked since my last purchase in 2017. The 3 year warranty was free, and $165 for the added 2 years was almost mandatory whereas it was included in my pricing back then. And it was the only way to get the LE versions which came with the premium shock package and other options like heated seats etc.

Is that still the norm?

I get 2 years standard and purchasing extra 3 years from dealer for $450. So total of 5 years. Also getting $2k rebate going on and dealer waives set-up/etc. Add on accessories discounting them 20% too. Super happy with deal and get it this week

Correct, they quoted me $10,688 for the sled and when I sat with the sales person the next day (with my deposit ready, I may add) they said the email quote was incorrect The sales person said the real price for the sled is $16000 not $10,688. So they did a price switch-a-roo once I was in the dealership. I got the feeling I was sort of buying a used car off the dealers lot.

I think they thought once I saw the machine I'll accept the new price of $16,000. I wonder how often the price switch-a-roo for powersports happens? I bet a lot. My request for a sled quote came from the official Yamaha site. OF COURSE, I could be totally wrong and the sales person could of made a honest mistake, however I have more info I don't want to post yet until this pans out

I think I'm going to have to buy this machine somewhere because retirement is looming. The sled is the last powersport to buy.

Thanks for your comments I bought the STX today at another dealership $14999.. I paid 4 years YES at $499 (actually 2 years - 2 years free?). I'm a snowmobile newbie but have other powersports Picking up the sled in 4.5 weeks (Proline hybrid trailer being built).

From above
1. read rocker dan's build thread
2. Not sure what Snow trackers? , lighter steering? , Top gear wear problem (is there a fix?)
3. Spot weld the chain case tensioner when you open the gear chain case.
4. Barn of parts - driveshaft wedge? , fourth wheel kit ? Am I adding the 4th wheel or improving it
5. Anti-seize muffler bolts ASAP (need high temp anti-seize; not sure if the gray stuff I have is HT)

2020 Accessories -
- Need to buy cover,
- Need to buy Maintenance manual
- Maybe have dealer install front & rear skid plates
- Will be doing light towing (ice fishing) there's a bar in the rear but the Accessory book has towing [bars] options??
- Racewerx seat bolt?
- Slides

The maintenance shop used Handy table lifts for ATV/sleds/mcyles looking for a lift long term for ATV/sled

Congrats. You will love the sled! You made the best trailer purchase you could have .
