Can't wait to get my hands on one of these!

TAPP Secondary.jpg

Wow.......impressive for sure!!!

when will they be available for sleds?
90hp? really? we need some on snow testing for me to believe.....

They are waiting on the fabrication of more parts before they release them. I have had conversations with Dave in the past and I think it's been the better part of 5 years in development. I will have no reservations installing one of these because I know if nothing else it will be a strength improvement over the stock secondary. These will measure 11.4"in. compared to the 10.75"in. of the stock secondary

There's some videos on the TAPP Facebook page

Yes we have 11" secondaries for Yamaha sidewinders & Thundercats available but Maxceration was testing with 11.4" which is a couple weeks out.
Normally we send with 38/35 Helix inserts & orange spring. Comes with float spacer & tool. If your running TAPP primary you will need Arctic cat wide belt spider washer. These secondaries have been torcher tested at 600HP to rear wheels in UTV world for months. We will be updating more info on website soon. Sorry about not getting on here but very busy as always. Dave

11.4" ?
What will the recommended belt be as stock length belt would have to sit low in the secondary negating the larger diameter.
Only way to use a stock belt would be by closing up the center to center distance.

Good grief. Throw those dyno results in the garbage where it belongs. It’s quite obvious that the lower baseline run is slipping the belt so friggin bad it should’ve melted the clutch faces. For someone to post that and expect us to believe there’s a 90 horse track HP gain just switching clutches is absolutely ridiculous. You won’t even pick up 10 track horsepower switching clutches if your relatively close on the set up. Just not gonna happen folks.

I’d say it looks like someone (Maxceleration) has absolutely no clue on how to clutch a machine, that’s obviously a snow sled that’s used to spinning the track, then they put it on a track dyno and could not keep a hold on the belt. That’s the worst looking and out to lunch graph I’ve ever seen.

I happen to run a TAPP primary and it’s a decent piece, but to put a graph out like that is just plain ridiculous and flat out false advertising and poor consumer manipulation. Yes, I’d say you are a county mile off on the baseline setup Maxceleration! This is by far the worst BS sales pitch I’ve ever seen posted, anywhere ever. Worst thing is people who don’t know any better will fall for these claims.

I feel TAPP more than likely built a nice secondary clutch, don’t put out false advertising graphs like this! Because it is false and misleading crap.

@Dave Forsyth send me a secondary setup for a Yamaha shaft, I'll test it against my best stock Yamaha secondary setup.

Was thinking the same thing.

I figured it had to be belt slip for that kind of dyno comparison as well. I am sure the Tapp secondary will be a high quality, reliable secondary though.

Guys, I think the takeaway from this is we all know Dave makes an impressive product that just holds up and considering the UTV guys are running 600+ hp through this secondary and haven't broken a roller yet speaks volumes. These same guys have used well known billet secondaries that didn't hold up to the power. We all know you have to take hp gains with a grain of salt and it's up to the individual to test for themselves and this is no different. As i said before, I'll purchase one because it's a more rugged piece that will hold up and outlast the cast stock secondary. This will require a longer, wider belt and Dave has been working with Ultimax to have a thicker belt produced for this set up.

Looks like a nice piece for sure. It had better be as it costs significantly more than the STM billet secondary I guess we will find out soon enough. Let the games begin!
