The result is.................................................................................. 168km/h! And it hold it!!
On snow, and on severals flat stretch. 166km/h on the lake.
It was an easy 165km/h day.
Clutching was good, and conditions too.

If this is ain't cheap enough for you guys, can't help more!
I am using Sandale exhaust muffler.
I must thank mrviper700 for an old article about heel clicker clutch tuning. I used his strategy on the stock weights and the results are here! It works.
Mr.Sled don't know but he also helped from his post: All day clutching.

Hopefully you dont take this as bashing you because i really dont mean this in a bad way, the thing is i dont really understand the purpose of this thread. If you wanted to thank mr viper and mr sled you could just pm them.
Anyone could start a thread saying anything they want, like my viper went 105 box stock with no mods but what is the real point?
You are giving cryptic info on how you read some info on here and figured out how to make your viper fast but are unwilling to give any specifics other than you are using the stock belt and helix.
Why all the secrecy? Why bother posting this info? Are you looking for us to beg you for your info?
I just dont get it i guess.
Good luck with the sled and honestly i hope you can understand what i am saying and not take it as an insult.

Viper top speed is one of the most disappointed thing about that sled people are complaining about. If you read that forum of hear people who own SRViper you already should know that. About half post talk about top speed numbers. Now what I want here is telling people That I am happier than ever about the speed of my sled after some very easy mods I did. Like any other post as people telling they like their Viper. Maybe now you understand. I ran it for two years always playing with clutch, different weights, springs, helix. Yesterday I decided to try basics things as playing with weight distributing and different primary spring, and the result is amazing. If your box stock Viper is 105. I am more than satisfied for you. The fact is majority of Viper owners have a sled of under 100mph or 160km/h. If people want to know more about what I did, they can pm me and I will be more than happy to help. For thoses who don't believe that stock weights give me the best top speed and can perform well, take it for what it is. I just don't want to tell people that this is a miracle set-up. But for me it worth a couple mph, and the throttle response is the best.

I believe it. Magnaforce wieghts I am using are almost exact same profile as stock. Its just a matter of right conditions and right RPM and especially with stock size belt its doable. Good job!

Ok thanks for the clarification.
Yes you are right. For me, The top speed is the biggest disappointment with this sled
My viper runs crappy. it wont break 85 mph without absolutely perfect conditions and even then i have seen a best of 93 mph with the cotc kit and a shimmed 46/40 helix with 6-1 wrap.
I have 1 ride left this year and then i will tear it apart and give the clutches a thorough going over and check for issues.
Not sure why you you just dont post what you did since all the parts you are using are stock so it really costs people nothing but time and a few rivets and it really might help a few guys out but to each their own i guess.
Just happy to hear you are willing to share your info via pm.

Clutching isn't magic but different people can have different approaches. A lot of time can be put in testing and mods. I just think that if Yamaha don't put back the 8DN on the Viper, there is certainly a reason other than to use all the 8JP belt they had built. If we can have our Viper perform the most with the least modifications, I am all in.

I could not agree more.
Thats kind of why i am pushing you to post your setup.
You just might be able to help a few guys out with the same issues.
Nothing would have made me happier than changing a spring or installing a few rivets in my clutch weights and getting the speeds i know this sled is capable of.
Instead i spent money, time, more money, more time, now im out of money and time and snow and will need to work on it over the summer and next season.

So what's the setup? What spring and what weight settings? I have the stock weights from my viper that I weighted differently and was going to put them in my buddies stock viper which is a 93 mph viper that constantly hits the rev limiter. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's gonna happen this year.
Guys and 1049triple I mean no disrespect with this but I honestly hit 105mph last year more than once on river absolutely stock. Just next day would only do 90 same stretch. You just do the best you can and eventually the consistency will come. There is no magic clutching for top end. It just needs power or perfect conditions.

I keep the inner 3.6. Shave 1.3g from the center 3.6 so its now 2.3g. I switch the tip rivet to another 3.6.
So 3.6 2.3 3.6.
Pink-Silver-Pink primary spring.
Yes good condition are the main factor, but the better the clutching helps get speed. I never see those speed before that mod and I have almost 9000km.

If I got time I will lower the suspension to see if I could gain more. And put back the middle height windshield! This will help!

So how's the engagement on that? Orange pink orange would give basically the same finishing rate but you'd have a lower engagement yet, just curious if you've tried that?

I agree and disagree. Lol
I understand conditions play a big factor with this sled.
Cannondale, on any given day i can take the viper out and let it rip. I know regardless of conditions, no matter how bad it is i can see an average top speed of 85.
If conditions are perfect i will bounce around 92-93.
I had the reflash done last week and Right now im hitting the revlimiter so i know i need to add more weight to the tip.
I am assuming that i will see an increase in top speed once i do this, but if i get more than 3-4 mph i will be shocked.
My goal is 100. I just NEED to know it will do it. Im driving myself insane with this, lol
I ask you this, what do you see for average every day top speed in general trail conditions?

Did not really pay attention to precise engagement because it is smooth as I want. That tachometer is so tricky. Same preload as original spring. I will get you on that tomorrow morning. I don't have the orange-pink-orang, but it would be close. Should have a slightly lower engagement and lower rpm at bottom pull. When I pin it at slow speed it hit right 9100 then 8800 and climb fast to 9000-9050 and stay there. On top speed it is between 9050 and 9120.
