A buddy of mine started making these a couple weeks ago and I thought I would share them with you. Finally a good vent that will actually let the heat out! The quality is second to none and the install is easy. They come with great directions too. Thought maybe you guys would like to see them. Never seen one like it.

P.S. I pulled these pictures from the website. www.roestracing.com

That is very cool. Has he done any testing to see if there was a Water Temp difference with this installed verse not?

As I said in the MTX section, I want to like this but I'm not sure on the design. I'm not trying to be negative as I really like the look of this, I'm just not sure of it. I certainly stand to be corrected though.

I always assumed the radiator fan drew air down through the radiator, towards the tank. All of this extra space for venting is in front of the radiator so any air coming up through this hasn't been through the rad. If anything is this now providing another path of least resistance for the cool air that would normally go through the radiator?

I think more ventilation is needed aft of the radiator. I think if you could set up a draft of the area behind the radiator you would get better cooling from the rad.

Again, sorry to be negative. If someone can negate my thoughts I'll be the first one to order as I am tired of overheating.

I too agree with Bagodonuts. This thing looks real good, fit and finish to match the sled. But with it opening up the area above and in front of the rad, could this actually take away some air getting to the rad from the vents beside the headlight? Is it going to create a vacum with it being behind the windshield? I guess we'll have to wait for arteeex to chime in here. I'm sure there is a formula to fill out. :tg:

Well...there are many equations to throw at this, but fortunately I've forgotten most of them.

However, the first step should be to define the problem you are trying to solve. At what point does the under hood temp actually create a problem with respect to performance? And, to what degree is the (presumed) lack of air flow contributing to the problem or is the cooling capacity of the radiator and tunnel exchanger just too low for your typical conditions?

I agree that conserving air flow through the radiator is a good idea. The coolant is pulling heat from deep within the motor and its heat transfer capacity is much higher than air moving over the outer surface. If overheating is a common problem for you, adding the MTX under tunnel radiator is probably a more certain way to get excess heat out of the motor.

If you punch holes in your sled and instead of the air moving over hot parts it just goes in one hole and out another nothing would be gained - except by those who converted your money into vents.

well put arteeex!

well sh*t ive spent more money than that on stuff people have told me works .....i wont go into that because hey other ppl find they have success with it . kand n filters great idea poor fit and finish ( carrey allen keys with me to fix them ) .... pilot skis .. they suck on the nytro . anyways i payed and will try this product . and if it doesnt work which i doubt because the rad has a housing to grab air ....and really why i think this is gonna work is that our sleds over heat not when there moving only when there stuck not moving driving air through the sled ..........i think this will let the air vent off the sled and keep it cooler longer .....and damn it looks good and is made well . and when arteex has his review done with testing of the product ill start listening to him ( not just his hypothesis)

if ppl want ask me in a month and ill tell if it works

Sorry, site rule 4875.25, section 12, paragraph 4, specifically states that you must listen and adhere to all theories and hypotheses rendered by the Great and Powerful Arteeex.

Additionally, you and your little dog must maintain a distance of at least 3-meters from the curtain. That's in paragraph 5.

Yes parts are expensive, but knowledge is free.

talk is cheap my friend, and the knowledge you can gain from this site is free. I should have explained this better earlier seeing as your ryetarded. Now cheer up and take the chip off your shoulder, if you can. If not,...well I guess it's better to be pissed off than pissed on. it's on you now, or is none of this knowledgable to you. This lesson was free.
