Kviper, you are correct about the Urea, it is injected into the exhaust system. As for the new Ford engine and when you add the Urea, its just like fuel, the more your foot is on the accelerator the more Urea you use. We have had to add in as few a miles of 1500.

KVIPER,
I have heard plenty of stories in my life of gas stations having water in there fuel. Especially places were we usually ride out in the middle of no where with old gas stations that maybe are not up to spec. With all that, and the stories of boaters and there nightmares with this WONDERFUL ETHANOL (It is absolutly a fact that the ethanol does absorb moisture!!) I will absolutly be more careful when filling my tank.
With all that knowledge you have why don't you see that we DO NOT need another fuel source, we have enough oil reserves to last my life time and I'm only 27. Why do we need purchase it now?? When it is completly harmless to the engines and cheap enough, then it should be introduced. Bottom line we dont need it. SHUT UP AND DRILL!!!DRILL BABY DRILL!!!
OK I will buy your farm, I will be there this weekend. We can go over the papers and I will teach you how to ride that YAMAHA after. LOL

Just my .02 but I know first hand how crappy this ethanol junk is. I have a repair shop where I work on snowmobiles, quads and pwc. I can't begin to tell you how many fuel related issues have come into the shop since this crap became mandatory. I've seen everything from fuel tanks and fuel lines disintegrating, to floats in carbs melting to complete burndowns. And, don't even get me started about what is does to boats. Just ask any marina on the east coast, they will tell you that you have to run your boat motor a minimum of 2-3 days a week or you'll risk fuel issues. This stuff pulls moisture out of the air like you can't believe. Fuel Injected motors aren't quite as prone to this because they are a closed vented system. Carb motors vent into the atmosphere so ethanol draws the moisture in that way. My father-in-law has replaced 2 power heads and had to do total carb, (4 carbs), rebuilds 4 times on his 2004 outboard motor all from ethanol related problems. Did you know that Yamaha Marine issued a warning that their motors will not run on 15%? My buddy owns a lawnmower shop. He said he is getting all kinds of bulletins on the hazards of ethanol. Ethanol makes LESS power and costs more, and gets worse mileage. Who benefits from that? You can't mix it with non ethanol gas unless you're gonna burn the whole tank dry within a week. I also don't see how advantageous this stuff could be if everytime you fill up, you should add a fuel additive such as Startron and/or Marine Grade Sta-Bil. I agree with aceltex09, start using our own natural resources and stop funneling money to the same people that want to see us all dead.

Well at your age junior you either inherited a crap load of money or i highly doubt that you have the fund's to buy my farm or the experience and knowledge to run it. You have proven your immaturity and selfishness by stating that you are only concerned about what happens in YOUR life time. Before you say another word about a farm go for one week with out eating anything that was produced on a farm. Then come and spend a year in my world. I guarantee you will be happy keeping your full mouth shut and will want nothing to do with owning a farm.aceltx09 said:KVIPER,

just jet for ethenol and be done with it. that is why ngk came out with the iridium spark plugs. also by going with a colder heat range, it is like jetting your sled up 1 jet size per range. just throw a set of cr10ek iridums in your sled and you will have jetted up by 2 sizes according to ngk. i know this works because we ran a bigbore srx motor in a viper this way all last season and it was jetted spot on and embarrassed a couple of cat 800 tripple tripples.

Well you just proved what an old geiser you are. It was just a joke, take it easy get some geritol. Of course I care what happens in my life, I'm sick of paying $3 for a gallon of gas when its all going to taxes. Read the last post again put your glasses on, the thicker ones, I'm all for another fuel source, but a fuel source that does not harm engines or cost an arm and a leg. We have plenty of time to find the perfect viable fuel source. We will not run out for decades!!!!!!! There is no need for anything else or to purchase from any other country!!!! I would love to spend a year in your world. I hate all the new technology and processed Sh*t!!! I wish things would stay the way they were 5-10 years ago. Only reason I said some of the things I said was you tried to contradict A fact based statement I made. I'm not against farmers, If I had to do over again I would buy some land far out and live off the land as much as I could. But you pushing this ethanol is ridiculous, THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As i stated in a prior post, It will take time to adapt. A local small engine shop just told me that all the carb rebuild kit's for small engine's are now safe for ethanol. Ethanol only makes less power in motor's that are not built for it. In this case scenario premium also makes less power than 87 octane. 116 octane race fuel would not make squat for power in a motor that is built for 87, A motor built to use Ethanol at what ever level will be more efficient and make more power. It is all relevant. Ethanol is here to stay at least at some level, Hydrogen is coming (Oh wait i won't make any money on that LOL) and fossil fuel's will be used for a long time in to the future as well. Ha, Don't shoot the messenger, All i am saying is instead of whining about it learn to use it to our advantage and once thing's are adapted this whole post will be a concern of the past.Greasemonkey said:Just my .02 but I know first hand how crappy this ethanol junk is. Kviper,
We are not going to convince each other of anything different. I'm honestly not against what you are saying its just not the time for it. I'm willing like yamamainer to agree to disagree with you. I have political arguments all day with people I just want to come here and enjoy what I love most, YAMAHAS. So I will end this before one of us gets suspended. Good Luck with the farm, not with the ethanol and happy trails buddy. I will come by for a visit if I'm out there someday, we can have tea and crumpets. LOL

You keep talking in circles. First you say we don't need any other fuel source than you say you are all for one. What ever dude. If you want to make a trip to Wisconsin i would love to have you give me some riding lesson's, LOL. I am 48 with a lot of mile's on my a$$ and heard a lot of punks like you make the same stupid comment's over the year's. Bring it, My bud's and i love competition.aceltx09 said:Well you just proved what an old geiser you are. It was just a joke, take it easy get some geritol. We do not need another fuel source. But if there is a cleaner healthy fuel I am all for it, as long as it is cheap, doesn't harm the engine and is a direct replacement. But in the meantime there is plenty of oil in our on back yard. We can extract it refine it and have cheaper prices, While we perfect that other fuel source. Far from a punk, you were looking for a fight since your first post in this thread, and you got a few old timer. Anyways I gotta go milk a few chickens.

I will remind the users posting in this thread that they need to be a little bit less emotional. I've considered deep sixing this at least once and have decided it now needs this little reminder to follow the posting rules......

I didn't even get involved in this thread till farmer's were mentioned in the manner they were. I guess if defending my position and pointing out what i know of Ethanol is looking for a fight then you can call it what you like. I also come in here to contribute, learn and help fellow Yamaha people as much as i can. We have wasted enough space in here. Now i need to go sell some corn.LOL
