Anybuddy have any suggestions..other than I have a lemon..... I have the Dalton Red Primary with his new DYPR fly weights with the steel rivets and aluminum Tips, app 65.3 grams. Machined Primary, 54 /44 Dalton Helix and his red secondary, wrapped to 70 , new belt, track loose , 23 gear, upgraded plugs and I just can't get this thing to roll, might see 110 on the dream meter.,I am noticing when I marker the Primary Iam cleaning the sheeves off to about a heavy 1/4 to the top but it might be from letting off on the gas, also both clutches are cool to touch after long run but notice constant black on my Primary like there 's to much side pressure, also rev are hovvering between 10:5 and 10:7.

Marks Sled a forum memeber under Mark has a decent running one with the ulmer mods. It works very well in my opnion. He managed 108 mph in 2000' on the weekend into a 20k headwind. I wouldn't knock that to badly at all. This is on a plowed strip though I wouldn't guess you would see much at all over 100 mph on anything less then plowed ice.
108 mph in 2000 ft, wasnt too bad for a stock apex. There was a modded f1000 there done to the tits and it ran 110. May I suggest talking to machzed he has a post awhile back that he reached 120 mph might be worth while to hit him up for some advice.

Hey bud....you are running near exact what I run....although i run predator and raimair.....
how much black is on you primary?...IS it thick black or just a light black tone?....reason I ask is if its thick black, you have slippage....and Im wondering if that 54/44 is too steep...I run something slightly lower angled.
A good test for you, would be to throw in STOCK helix, run the same day same track, and watch speedo...clean primary clutch prior and put a NEW MARK on it with magic marker....the shallow stock helix will apply more backpressure and reduce slippage.
IF you have slippage probs this will help, but it might not be slippage at all..but worth a try...you might have a slower one??..Ive seen some that just wont pull top end like mine....but I think the 1 inch track has all to do with that.
you could also try adding the SLP wear pads to ripsaw,or more wheels in skid.

mine also gets that light black tone all over primary...i beleive this is typical.
I would try the stock helix or a shallower helix if you got one there...ofcourse remember the stocker wont allow for full shift like the dalton will....so you would shim that stocker.
other then that, not really too sure...are you alot slower ontop then other apexs?....It seems to me most the apexs ive run are all in close range to eachother by 1-2mph....I usually have 3-6mph on all the stock apexs i run on the gun...
how is all the alignments?....my skis came to me 1/2"toed out...all the little things can add up to more speed....track being biggest one IMO.

Ski Alignment is bang on. including centre to centre....and I orinally cut 3mm off my stock helix last year so no need to shimm, Iam going to try the stock helix and wrap it to 3 and 3 and take some wrenches today to play. I even took off the duellys..Dan I figured out last year I had a dud.. its the slowest lake runner I have had since 1991. I love this thing just want the most out of it like we all do . Don't want to Butcher Turbo.

How are your hyfaxes. I chased the same thing and this what I found wrong. I noticed my hyfaxes where junk on the bend after about 400 miles of riding and I got tired of changing them. So I put on a marginal snow kit in that spot and went from 106-109 on ice with half inch of snow to 126-129 on dremometer. I don't know if this your problem or not but it sure fixed mine. I was so fed up with no top end last year that I even put on a 1 inch full clip track.

I agree with Dan. A 54/44 may be a little to steep with the DPYR weights. I also run a very similar setup, but I'm using a 50/42 Dalton. it goes like a raped ape.
