Hi,
Found a normally open tether switch laying around in the garage, and would like to hook it up on my backup sled.
Where can I connect a N/O switch? I would think its most common to use a N/C switch?
Thanks

You would have to use a inline relay to make it work. But it can be done.

Exactly, just need to set it up similar to how OFT does if with the Pro Armour tether and relay. Should be a pretty easy wiring job. When the tether gets closed it will ground out the relay and open the circuit to the sled killing power. That way it does not ground out the sled's system itself which is bad for these 4 strokes

I get it.
Where do you hook it up? Same place as the oft tether, or just split the wires going to the ignition key?

Don't quote me as I am sure there are others who may have more experience with doing this but I would expect both would work, If you are not running a ROV I would think putting it inline with the ignition wire would work just fine but as well as OFT's kit has worked I would try to do it that way if possible imo, but i'm sure someone else who has done this exact thing without a plug and play unit may have more hands on advice.

I'll take a look at it next week. Should'nt be a big problem.
I just dont like the thought of even more relays wired on the ignition, prone to freezing.

Why is it bad to ground out the system ? and how do the killswitch and the TORS kill the sled ?

The kill switch is normally closed completing circuit to ECU.ECU controls when engine runs. The switch just "tells" it to stop.I believe only place to actually kill sled with a normally open switch to ground without popping a fuse or burning a wire would be the stator and that will fry the contacts in the killswitch very quickly because of arcing at activation. Also will send some voltage into the handlebars. Is sort of a exhilarating thing though!

Guys,
I was looking at using one of those momentary kill switches from RSI. Since have the OFT roll over valve, I just have to figure out how to put this "Normally Open" switch into the roll over valve wiring.
I am assuming you could just splice into the tether switch lines. Anyone try this yet?
