Great pictures with the phone and definitely jealous of all that snow.
What type of phone and model is the phone? I'm looking for a new one and would love to get that kind of quality as long as the phone quality is as good.

We should be getting more snow this weekend. I don't know how much, but its in the forecast. Cross your fingers! This could be enough to get grooming started around Pittsburg.

New Update. Apparently all Pittsburg trails are now OPEN. Most have been groomed. They didn't receive a huge amount of snow, but it was enough to help out.
Here, slightly further south in the Milan/Berlin area, there still isn't any real riding. Up at my house on the hill, we received a couple inches of snow then a lot of rain over the weekend. We then got a couple inches of snow on top of the rain, but after the whole process we actually LOST total snow because of the rain. There is very limited riding in questionable conditions in the Milan area, but Berlin/Gorham have less snow and there is no riding (maybe 4-6" total snow there). I still haven't dared to risk my skis and suspension on our low amounts of snow in Milan.

Well the weather shows "snow showers" from Thursday through next Tuesday. Hopefully the snow showers will add up to at least 2" a day...or even just one good day of 10-12" would do a lot of good to the trails.
I did some checking and found the power line trail I mentined is actually groomed by the Berlin club, not the Milan club. The Milan club has been grooming their trails, but this section of trail is quite a distance from Berlin, and Berlin doesn't have much snow...so they won't run their groomer all the way up here just to groom one section of trail. If I get time this weekend, I'll take a run north and see if the trail gets better as I go up.

Well we had a few days of small snowfalls of around 3" each, but at this point it all helps. It seemed to have worked wonders, as the local trails have improved a LOT. My wife and I did a short ride yesterday, and found that the local groomer has been out on the powerlines from Milan to Berlin. The few miles we did on the powerlines had a few small spots of water and a few waterbars still showing, and a couple washouts, but it was pretty smooth overall with enough snow to ride.
I also got a chance to talk with several riders who rode up from Twin Mtn. Apparently the trails are in fair to good overall condition, with a few washouts and some minor water showing in places. They said the riding is decent, just watch for washouts and be careful.
Now if we can find someplace that actually handles registrations on the weekend, we plan to register today so we can start doing some real riding.

Well so much for the improvements. 40+ degrees and rain last night and a little today really took its toll. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm as well. Cross your fingers for cold weather to return, and some snow with it! I just ordered up a few things for the riding season, so I hope my investment isn't wasted.

Damn, I was looking forward to coming up to Milan this weekend. Now looks like may not be worth it. I was hoping you weren't getting the same weather that we were getting down here.

There isn't much here, I'm sorry to say. Our sleds are parked and won't be going anywhere unless we start getting some real snow. We were down to lots of dirt and some grass showing when it switched over to snow the other day, then things froze up a bit. We only got a dusting of snow, not enough to do anything. then we got about 2" a couple days ago, and its not doing anything right now. It looks like it might snow a bit, but nothing yet.
I have been watching the Pittsburg site to see if they are doing better, but they haven't updated it in several days. Keep watch at www.pittsburgridgerunners.org Right now around here, there is just ice on dirt with 2" of fluffy snow on top of that. I talked to a friend who has gone out a few times since the weekend, and he said that over the weekend Errol wasn't too bad, but after the last rain, the trails turned terrible.
