So last year my sled wouldn’t start when it was really cold out, I finally got around to messing with it today. Throws a code 12, I installed a new starter relay by the battery and the battery is currently charging. Never had problems before now. I tried to jump the solenoid and it just sparks but doesn’t turn over. I spun the primary forward a turn and the code 12 goes away temporarily but when I turn the key to start it nothing happens. It doesn’t throw a code until I try to jump the posts on the relay and then it just pops up the code 12 again. I’m really hoping it’s not the starter. I’ve read almost every post on here about it and wasn’t sure if anyone else had this happen or had advice.

sounding like your starter is seized or finished. if it only sparks and does not turn over when you jump the solenoid it is shorted to ground internally.

Code 12 displays because the ECU is expecting to see a signal from the crank sensor indicating that the engine is rotating when attempting to start it. You more than likely have a bad starter.
What's your location in NY? I'm in WNY if you need help with this.
