My nytro is draining the battery when driving and i get code: err 1 and 46.
I just barely got home on the last ride and had to turn off the lights to keep it running.
I have a lightweight battery that has worked perfectly a couple of years, can the battery have gone bad?
any input?
john

sounds more like a bad stator if it can't keep the battery charged.

Yeas but it is charging but maybe not enough, i have 13,8v when the sled is running. The strange thing is that it happened on a ride earlier also but then the engine was covered in snow due to a vent that was broken and i assumed it was water in a plug or something that f... up that time, then i have used the sled many times but only in daytime and with the lights off(its not legal to drive here in norway so i have a switch on the lights) both times the sled has died i had the lights on because it was late and dark.

I have this battery: http://www.atbatt.com/shorai-lfx21l6-bs12-lithium-iron-phosphate-lifepo4-powersports-battery.asp
Cant try the original because that one failed 2years ago so i don't have it.
Same thing today, worked fine all day but drained the battery, but i measured the battery before i drove today and i had only 12,6v when the sled was running so its not charging

Check your voltage regulator first, the connections there can get corroded and it will not charge properly.

I checked the regulator and it was toast, luckily i had a new one so i put that on and everything is working great. Now i have 14,4v when the sled is runningCheck your voltage regulator first, the connections there can get corroded and it will not charge properly.
Thank you for the advise

And that saved the rest of my season, still a month or 2 with snow in the mountains
slushy but still fun to drive in
