Nytro vs 1200 doo

Wondering how they compare power wise? Want to snow check something this spring and am finding these can be had for $1000 less then the new Viper. Loved the Viper on my demo ride but a grand is allot of cash to me. Might be looking at being on a Doo again

nytro has more power than the doo, and it sounds way better IMO. throttle response is better on the nytro as well. Doo has better suspension.

If you where to ride both and i have, the power difference isn't even close. The nytro feels way more powerful. Now during a race the nytro does win but not like you would think. I have also heard the doo has more top end but not in the two that I compared.

I believe they are supposed to be totally opposite rides. like an apex with a bad coil

doo will beat an rtx but cannot outrun an xtx. Stock that is because of the gearing. At leas i got out run by one on a mile long pull. i was hitting 102 on the dreamometer and he slowly caught and passed me after a little over a half mile... I pulled out by about 3 sled lengths and he reeled me in.

I have a 2010 1200X shorty, and my brother is still riding my old 09 nytro rtx se that is a 136" with Cobra track and 144 studs, with an Excell header. My 1200 has a mbrp header, dynoport can, PCV, and clutched.

We raced a few times on the rail road bed, and its extremely close out of the hole, then I pull away slowly. We never race til top speed, but I've seen 105 on the speedo on pretty decent hardpack snow. I would think the 1200 is faster top end than the shorty nytro. We're not straight line high speed racers around here, so thats about the closest comparison I can give for straight up power/speed.

Handling wise it isn't even a comparison. Doo wins hands down IN MY OPINION.

I've been curious to this very discusion as well. Been thinking about the possibility of a 1200 renegade next winter but don't know enough about them yet. Just now getting all the quirks figured out on the nytro.

On the doo forums they tend to talk as though the 1200 is indeed faster. I haven't driven one yet to see how they handle or what the power feels like compared to the nytro.

On Dootalk the 1200 is the fastest sled ever made after you add a header and powerblock80. It will outrun F1100T, Apex's, and Nytro's.

Stock I believe the are close. I think the 1200's make more power with mods. I don't have a hard taime believing they could outrun SOME Apex's on top. My 07 RTX (Geared low) will only run 105-108 GPS depending on conditions.

raced my stock xtx nytro 2012 against a friend at the lake stock 1200. I won twice by a nose and he won once. I would say they are neck and neck. Seemed the nytro pops a little better off the start but the doo tracks it down fast. This was to about 90 mph. Another guy races the 1200 with a 121 nytro all the time and says consistently looses. I'm talking stock here.

Anybody that says one kills the other is on the blue or yellow koolaid.

The nytro definitely feels like it has a lot more power down low. It really has the immediate throttle response. But once things get rolling they are pretty darn close.

Handling is where the 1200 out does the nytro. That, and the 1200 is ready to ride right out of the box and doesn't need hardly anything. Besides some storage, and wind protection IF you want it.

Yes, it's a shorty it will corner better then a 144"...

Its a 136, no tip up. But it started off as a 121...and it was even worse then.

Just went down this road. You need to decide what you want the sled for. I just sold my Doo 800 2-stroke. I'm done with the 2 strokes. Anyways, the entry level doo 1200 is a cruiser. It's not a ditch or aggressive trail sled. Although they offer a X package, it is no where near the RTX SE package. I assume your looking at the short track model in both. The Doo will corner better and require less work out of the box. But its no where near the bump sled the Nytro is. The 1200 will beat a fairly well tuned Nytro RTX top end. XTX different story. The 1200 will not open up nearly as easy as the Yami motor. A simple supercharger will have the fuel injectors running at 95-97% capacity. The 1200 has excellent torque. It will hang with 800's just fine until top end, but thats on a lake. Trow some good mogul's in there and the 1200 suspension will just not hold up.

Anybody have any good comparisons with the xtx and the renegade? I don't know what the 1200 is like for reliability either. I haven't heard of any blowing up but haven't been around to many either. I know brp can make a good motor as my can am has just shy of 14,000 kms on it without to much trouble.
