Just wanted to post a few pictures and show what I decided to go with for a riser set up to help anybody else do something similar.
I replaced the stock throttle cable, brake hose, and parking brake cable, with MTX cables. From the dealer this cost me about 150$ (Canadian).
Bleeding the break line was straight forward, info online can easily help you to do this. You need to bleed both sides of the
calliper using the bleed nipple. (One at a time).
To change the throttle cable, I removed the gas tank in order to gain access to the throttle linkage. The rad can be loosened and moved out of the way, however the fuel talk is easy to remove and therefore I decided to go this route. This is also a good time to check your donuts, and spark plugs if applicable.
I was able to pull the throttle to wide open and wedge a small wrench under the throttle linkage to hold it in wide open. Once I had it at WOT, I was able to push the cable slack toward the engine and slide out the cable end. Using a flat head screw driver I was able to work the new cable back into the linkage. Be careful you don't knock the wrench loose, cause the linkage will spin back to idle and you'll have no means of pulling it back( and its tight in there unless you remove some throttle hoses, which I didn't want to do).
I routed all the cables in the stock position from factory. I purchased a 3.5" pivoting rox riser. I tried a 5", but it was too high for me for sitting down, but it never tried the cable length with the 5" riser.
The XTX has curved bars, with about 3-4" of rise from the post, vs the MTX which has straight bars, and a 7" riser stock (I believe). Combining my riser and bar rise, a total of about 6.5" is a fair estimate, and therefore the MTX cables fit perfect. I had no throttle position sensor issues when at full turn, and the cable fit exactly like factory. The most you would be able to go would be maybe 4" using the MTX cables in the stock routing position. I'm sure you could go higher with the MTX brake and parking brake cables, but the MTX throttle cable can't go much higher than this 3.5" riser on the XTX bars.
The bar pad adds height that the throttle cable needs to go over top of, but that's how the factory routing is, so I kept it the same.
Bar pad - 50$
Risers - 135
Cables - 150$ (Canadian)
I know this is expensive, but I wanted to do it right and like factory, so I did it this way. It is important to know that this riser has no pivot adaptor, so it is exactly 3.5" vertical height.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Rox 3.5" pivoting riser is what I went with. No need for a pivot adaptor, and it clamps narrow enough to fit on the stock XTX bars.

Where did you get the bar pad? I really like the looks of that one.

I got that one online at first place parts. It is the "small" size.

Thanks, love the set up you did. Doing the same thing only with the black anodized riser.

Nice touch. Was going to do that, however the black wasn't available in Ontario at royal distributing. Was going to order online, but deciding between the 3.5 and 5" allowed me to return the one I didn't want, all well! Glad my post helped.
