Just my two cents, but I have never heard anyone boost themselves up like onestop jim. I by far am not even close to the same league as you or ted when it come to building sleds, but Damn. every post is about what you did, or how fast you are, or calling someone out. Your not even comparing apples to apples to teds sled. You got a chip on your should man

I have no problem with Ted, this is all in fun. and sometimes I go overborad.. but I am my best sales person and build the best race sleds out there...

and it just kills me that people think you just make 400 hp and go 4.85
and thats all it takes,( also in this post it says his sled is 425+), my point is to get ted to build that 400 hp sled and lets see what happens, it always looks so easy YET I am ther first to do it so I guess it is and as things go on you will see we are the guys to beat.....

Guys, this is kinda silly. Jim you are fast no doubt as is Ted. However your comparing a custom built lake race Yamaha powered sled to a full bodied RX-1 lake racer. Apples to oranges. This topic was started by Otis to talk about Teds sled, not to compare whos faster than who and why. Lets keep on topic please.

Jim, the 430lb statement came from one of your past posts , you stated your sleds weighed that ready to run . Also , I didnt say it was easy running 4.85 e.t 's . good luck with all your ventures .

Hey guys I am new to this forum and have a few questions. It looks like you tubo guys have some fast sleds. If I wanted to play your game I was wondering how much is the entrance fee. What I mean is what does it cost to have a moderately fast turbo sled like Otis?

I was hoping you were a bunch of friendly guys. I'm ready to jump the Polaris flagship but wanted a little information.

I would guess that if you went with an 03 RX1 and built that up, you would be looking are $10,000.

Thanks Mr Blue. So If I picked up a RX1 I could expect to spend about 10 Gs on additional parts? I have worked on sleds for along time and have some great mechanical ability. Just trying to decide If I want to put on some yamaha shorts.

No, I would think you could spend pretty close to 10k total including the sled. You should be able to find a 03 RX1 or 2500-3000. That would leave you 7500-8000 to buy a turbo and accesorize. You may spend more depending on how much you want to do. I would say on the high end, you would spend 12 K.

every once and a while i cruze this site for info, i have to say that Ted, as far as venders are concerned is one classy guy. All walk and no talk. i have purchased nothing from Ted nor have i ever spoken with him. he offers solid info with the option to purchase any product you my require from him. i know i don't have to dirty this post with the things that go on in this business, most of you have experienced it. Stay humble Ted, and good luck !

I have a 2003 turbo RX-1 and all I can say is get one if you can. They are really that much fun. I have spent less than $10,000 on it and that was buying the sled new at auction for $6,000. I bought a slightly used CPR front mount turbo setup for $2,500 and installed it myself. Add all the gauges to monitor and have fun. I have been riding for three years at 7# boost with some 16# passes and still runs like new. If you can do it you won't believe the power and performance!
