I think some do maybe I was thinking of something else but the sight glass is not a great idea in my opinion.

my 15 mtx has one.

Personal preference but I prefer the easy to see sight glass. To see the level if you have it to the top just tip sled a little. If you still cant see it then you are either way overfull or missing oil. That said there are what I call 15 1/2 sleds. They are late builds after Sept 17 of 14 and have a different oil tank than the rest of us I suspect all the tanks are actually same except for Different baffle, shorter strainer and no sightglass. They also use .4 litres more oil. I may upgrade mine at some point but other than when I have rolled it on right side have not had any issue.

Ok thanks for the tip

Thank you for bringing it up. I need to put in a little Plug for the 4st solutions valve. It was installed after that first roll I had last year and the roll which I seem to do at least once a year has not been a issue since. I highly recommend it and using its tether. Its not something you plan for but it does happen.

I have all the parts to update one of ours to the dipstick, but have not done it yet due to we are riding. The new tank looks the same on outside but wont know if the inside is machined different yet until switching it out. I will post the pics when I do.

i was under the impression that the mtx's had the updated tank with the dipstick. the xts's that were made into long tracks last year when climbing anything steep the low oil light would come on and the engine would shut down.

Yes, and the reflash changed the low oil limp mode from 5 seconds to 10 seconds to help with this. Guys that do not carve on there side or climb extreme hills probably do not care about this though.
