A manufacturer can not "not warranty" a vehicle if you use a different brand oil. It is against the law. As long as the oil used met the minimum requirements. As kviper said there is nothing wrong with Yamalube, but Amsoil is one of the most trusted names in the business so why not pay less for more. If Yamalube was cheaper or closer i would probably buy it... Actually i run 0w-30 full synthetic so Yamalube is out for me...

I have heard that they can't deny warranty and I have also heard argument's. Not worth it to me!

Yamalube for me in all 4 sleds.

They want you to believe your warranty will be null and void but this simply isn't true!
As long as the oil you're using meets the specs and requirements then they cannot deny a warranty claim. (Google it)

Lots of info on bistog.com about Yamalube.
If you don't mind paying triple the price for a less than stellar oil, then carry on as it makes no difference to me, but for those who do care, just type in yamalube uoa in the search section and see for yourself.

Last info I am going to post.
Cheers ;)!

Well said Irv. Again, I have no problems with Yamalube, but in MY situation I pay less for better closer. That's why my opinion was "whatever is easiest". If I didn't have an Amsoil dealer down the street then my vote would be Mobil 0w-30 @ K-mart.

Is there a reason why not a lot of you use the 0w40?

Easier starting in cold temps! Quicker oil pressure to bearings in cold temps! Not as thin when the motor is hot! Works for me.

Amsoil 0-40!

I will vote for Yamalube full synthetic if price was no object, but at $20/qt, I don't buy it as I feel Yamaha is overcharging us for it.

I personally use AMSOIL full synthetic.

Yamaha is not overcharging, your dealer is!! I pay $14.95 a liter for Yamalube full syn here.

You guys need to understand that Yamaha puts a msrp on the price on parts I know of a lot of dealer who will add 20 o/o to that price but with the net they are getting caught . When I worked for a floor plan company I seen this all the time with oil an other fast moving parts. So it is best always to shop around an find a dealer who thing long term not short term.
