Got my new Mountaintech A Arm 43 +2 kit and installed Ulmers oil lite bushings in them using the threaded rod trick. My dilemma is the stock aluminum collars were very hard to get in the new bushings and I camfered the end of the stock collars and used a dremel to slightly camfer the new oilites. I got the 2 lower a arm collars in by hitting them very hard with a rubber mallet and installed that arm back. I can move it up and down ,but it is tight( Allen said they would wear in). I can' get the upper collar in the upper A arm it is so tight I can only get it in about a 1/3 of the way then I have to use a wood dowel and steel hammer to bang it back out. I camfered these as well. I noticed a slight wear ridge on both ends of the collar so I ordered new ones as these may be slightly bent(can't see it though). Any one else installed the oil lites and found the original collars hard to get in?
Thanks
Pete

Yup. It was all caused by over spray inside the new a arms. That caused enough compression on new bushings to make them to tight. Cleaned out overspray and installed nylatron bushings and good to go.

I just did mine and the only difficulty I had was the collar not lining up going into the other bushing once I pressed it all the way in (upper a arm). I used a punch to centre the aluminum insert in the new bushing and tapped it the rest of the way.

Mine were tight as hell. I had to use a long bolt, washer and nut to get mine through. Now the thing that sucks, is the spacers pivot on the bolts instead of the bushings pivoting on the spacers. Not sure if that'll cause a problem long term or not. Will the aluminum spacers wear out from rubbing against the steel bolts?

NYLATRON all day. I'll never buy oil lites again.
If I could've found nylatron I'd have gone with those but you can't buy them anymore to my knowledge. I have them I my old a arms and they were great.

Wow thanks for the response guys, the bushings went in pretty easy the problem I have is the cross shafts won't slide in , I talked to Pete he told me to put some grease on them and press them in and they will be fine , they will work in . I do remember Peter told me to get the nylatron. I should have looked into them. I like my suspension to be loose after all the bolts r tight.
So what I mean is the arms should just drop when you let them go, with no shocks on them ?
