Im building a turbo kit on the sled. Ive built lots of turbo cars and trucks. This is my first turbo carb motor. 2 questions
1. What exactly are you guys doing for fueling
2. Oiling are u just teeing in the oil feed of the motor and small line to the rear of the sled to the turbo ???

No expieriance with building them but my bender kit has its own oil pump but uses the engine oil, and for fuel I have an electric pump into a regulator, also retained vacum operated fuel pumps for recovery in case of electric pump burn out

Ok
Does the kit use its own oil and pump for the turbo or does it use a pump and the oil off the engine oil?
Did u have to do any carb internal mods??

Well I'm far from an expert but I'm sure no carb mods other than jets and such and yes it uses the engine oil witha seperate pump

The pump is to return the oil to the front of the sled. Oil pressure feeds the turbo.

1. You need a high capasity electric fuel pump (Bosch is used by MCX), you need a fuel pressure regulator (Malpassi is used by MCX) You need an Intercooler with 2 outlets to pressurize the float bowls, 1 outlet to pressurize the fuel pressure regulator, 1 outlet to pressurize the carb slides so they lift (this is normally done by vacuum), you also need a fuel return from the fuel pressure regulator into the gas tank (MCX added an adaptor to return unused gas into where the gas meter picup are located.
2. MCX uses an adaptor to install underneat the oil filter to allow for a oil line outlet to connect via a banjo screw. This line feeds the turbo with oil. They also have oil return lines from the turbo. The first one goes to a scavenge pump mounted on the flywheel cover and driven by the crank. The other line goes to one of the small oil lines above the oil tank.
I can send you the MCXpress install guide if you need any info on their turbo install.

Yeah if you can send me the intall guide that would be great. Im debating now im either gonna boost it via carbs or take the carbs off and EFI it with a set of R1 ITB's and a SMT standalone. Im not sure.
You will need to get the mpi billet T's, there is resistrive fittings that goes in there. They are pretty cheap, compared to the rest of the kit. Most of the kits come with a fitting that needs to glued in there. Oil supply on most front mounts comes from an adapter behind the oil filter, boondocker uses the oil cooler. Not sure on what turbo you are going to use, but most garretts need a jet in the oil supply line. Return oil goes lots of places, top of the valve cover, mag cover, clutch cover, front of the engine. Just make sure you use a big return line. At this moment in time RX1's are making more power, have heard 30lbs plus. CPR made 550hp asphalt dragger sled. Apex seems to limited for now, but things will change and they will pull ahead, just time.

I can fabricate the manifold and the intercooler. Im just debating on the fuel either i do carbs or ill do ITBs with Stand alone.

building turbo
Gee lot of work when we have kits in stock!!
I do sell parts and have had some guys blow up engine then buy intercooler and other parts etc.
Buy the kit and go riding and not be working on sled all winter!!

Im with powderlite, I have consider custom building, but decided otherwise after checking into stuff.
All the kits have been tested and modified and tested again, so I decided to buy then to build and rebuild.
Not to say you cant do it, it is very simple, but like I said its been tested time and time again until it was safe and durable.

I agree with powderlites as well. We have been through this time and time again. By the time you get your homemade kit running right (if you don't damage your engine in the process) the season may be over. Proper air signals to control the carb pressurization and fuel pressure reg are the hardest things to figure out.
