Funny. Reminds me of the Ben h racer who thought he would blow my 05 RX 1 with his SRX juiced to 800cc. I had an intake and clutch kit and out weighed him by 100lbs. We raced for hours, switching machines , let him tweak but to no avail the RX blew him away every time by multiple sled lengths. Some might say he had a lemon or was doing something wrong with set up. Who knows. The point is your right, it's like the goof who used to be in the Yamaha promo videos

Were you there ? Our group was, and we ride ALL the brands. The take-off spot constantly chances, from run to run.
When you are talking 100s of a second and you spend extra time spinning instead of accelerating, time is lost.
These results mean absolutely nothing, unless your brand happens to win on that particular run. LOL
If you want to get caught up in the hype, believe what you want.. Great for teasing your buddies, but your own results may vary from hour to hour, or day to day, or week to week. Enjoy whatever you ride.
I by no means get caught up in the hype, but the changing conditions are something that makes it interesting to me, everybody runs in the good, everybody runs in the crap, no different then being out on the trails. To me it shows which ones stay consistent and which ones don't, this year it showed that the sidewinder and the poo 800 still stayed on top even when conditions weren't in their favor, also shows the 600 class is a toss up unless you're on the cat.

You are right, changing conditions do make it interesting. Not very scientific, but fun. It,s a fun day so whoever has the winning brand that day can tease their buddies. Real world, impromptu races across a lake or long trail might have very different results.
Ride whatever brand makes you giggle inside your helmet. It,s all about the fun factor.

Life is a matter of inches. .00001 seconds means i WIN! Or -.00001 means first looser. In reality it shows these HEAVY 4-strokes are right there when things are reasonably equal...

Is there times to go with these top speeds.....as fast is fast but quick.....well we all know what quickness wins.....
I really believe the SW had the fastest speed....but was it the quickest time..........I mean this was a measured distance not a full out speed run....time matters....

I didn't know you bought a SW. Congratulations.
I didn't.....it's a "total" lie........I changed my sled because "some" sites receive you better if you ride the same brand as in their sites title.....I was getting a bit of "unpositive" feed back in posts an PM's because I had XP 800 listed as my sled..........here I'm more established and people don't shun you for riding others brands as it's more about the people.........I joined "over there" so to watch, learn, an read as people were experiencing it and could ask questions if I needed to and not be just a lurker..........

busted bark a lounger
Bark-A-lounger is a good friend and outstanding member on DooTalk! did you calling him out, help the cause? Is he pot stirring? Or coming on here, gathering information to process, and make an educated decision?
He's been looking for a replacement, doesn't want to buy a lemon. Especially with what happened to the 1st generation turbo.
Can you dig?

When i was shopping for last 2 years, i went on all the other sites. I asked a few simple questions & kept it nice. For $14,000 & up, i wanted to hear the good the bad & the ugly. So if the Lounger is interested, i say welcome...

stevewithOCD, knowing Yamaha. I personally didn't need reassurance.
Yamaha engineers toughness. Fact.
Now that they've added a 998turbo, I knew it would be the best platform to get things going. Sky's the limit....or your pocketbook......lol! Let's ride!!!!

Let's keep in mind that if a person has been on one brand for a long time, it's very hard to switch. I think the Lounger is just getting as much info as he can for next years purchase. He's probably watching the 850 progress, as he should, just like many members on this site that are looking to buy next year...plus he's in Maine & i'm looking for new riding friends...even if he's still on Yellow...their headlights in my mirror keep me awake...

Right on.....I've been on doo for last 8yrs. They build good #*$&@. No joke. Glad to be here trying out Yamaha's latest & greatest......I love it.
Headlights in the mirror to keep you awake! I can't believe you let them get that close. I'll have to try that......
