Old Forge Shootout

don't forget guys there was fresh mealy snow for the track, and like I hae been saying, these light weight poos and doos and cats, come out hard and fast,in the three drag races we ran them in,and most of them were 154 and 144 and even longer one was 162 inch paddle tracks on lose sod type soil and only running 400 feet, they were beating much higher hp sleds, mine included,so pick your drag race according on conditions and length, they did run 1,000 feet, and not 1/4 mile like races of the past, that is where you will se the SW and TC really shine, and I bet the doo 850 to.

Pretty sure that the fastest the srx ever went at this shootout in stock form at the 1/4 mile was 100 mph. not sure on the ET.
105.12 mph stock not boosted

Still 1/4 mile not 1000 ft. but yes the SRX was quite a sled

I guarantee you if the track was all snowy like today was,you would not see the big top speed runs of an old SRX,we had one on the grass where we were running two weeks ago,all set up to run 400 fet,yes on flat short clean grass surface or flat very hard packed snow they will go ;like a scolded cat,and on bare ice,i have seen them run 126 mph,but not in general, not on big snowy bumpy ytrails.

yes I forgot those older shootouts were 1/4mile. hmmmm.

LOL Ive been drinking now. The fastest sled by far at the shootout is a slug. A turd. LOL. Puh-lease. Goodnight.
The srx had the et record at 12.00, it was 99mph and that was 1/4 mile. The vmax4 had the mph record of 105.xx there were sleds faster than the srx but not quicker, there were sleds quicker than the vmax4 but not faster... now it looks like it's 1000 ft instead.

True, but 1/4 mile in pristine conditions, not 1000 ft in loose snow

And the pathetic Yoko track that came on the SRX, I lost a good amount of speed on my SRX by installing a 1.25 Camoplast 6 pitch which was aggressive at the time, 1.25" are standard fair now. I seen 117 on the gun with my SRX but that was a LONG pull on ice with the Yoko track.

Dec 2006 old forge dealer prep record mach z RT 11.08 seconds @108mph. 1/4mile

Sweet ! Now I know how mine will run stock! Thanks for posting !
Not really. They aren,t all built exactly the same, or broken in exactly the same. Your sled might be better, or it might be worse.
Results from this particular day mean nothing. Way to many changing conditions to collect any real world results on.
All this stuff is great for is being able to tease your buddies based on the results of this one day.
Again, results you see in the real world will vary greatly from these results we saw on this particular day.
I,m amazed sledders actually take this info for gospel. Enjoy whatever sled you own.

All sleds setup exactly the same with the same studs, same rider, same track and timers all on the same day..how much more real world do u want?

Were you there ? Our group was, and we ride ALL the brands. The take-off spot constantly chances, from run to run.
When you are talking 100s of a second and you spend extra time spinning instead of accelerating, time is lost.
These results mean absolutely nothing, unless your brand happens to win on that particular run. LOL
If you want to get caught up in the hype, believe what you want.. Great for teasing your buddies, but your own results may vary from hour to hour, or day to day, or week to week. Enjoy whatever you ride.
