One tuff engine

So I'm building this nytro engine for a buddy , like I said in my timing chain post.

The reason I'm rebuilding is because the machine was overheating and he thought the head gasket went.

In the end I've found the water pump had failed. The impeller was free on the shaft and wasn't turning with the engine. He drove the sled like this for 3 big trips last year. Around 400 miles!! It would overheat and he would just keep driving , he thought it was the sensor bad, after he air locked it. Unreal, no scuffs or scratches on the cylinders and engine ran great, minus some oil in the antifreeze ( head gasket we thought. )

The head is more than likely warped and will need to be corrected. It doesn't take much heat to warp these heads.
