Open Snow Cross - Yamaha Wins

Holeshot!

That's Yuji in your picture (Robbie is #4). Hopefully Yuji can get used to the agressive block pass/bump pass style racing the North American Racers use. If he can dial up his agression to match the rest of the field he would do great also.

All they had to do is want it!!!

Yamaha can do anything they want!!!

They just have to want it & every other factory is f##ked!!!

Way to go Yamaha, Boss Racing & Robbie Malinoski !

This sled clearly isn't entirely just a one off snow cross sled either. The body panels and windshield are far to well refined and look like they are engineered for production.

I wonder what they're going to call the new 3 cylinder Phazerish production sled? Is the Vector going to stick around for the older generation sledders or is this new sled going to do it all?

I guess we'll find out for sure next month.

I agree. That is way too clean and fit to just be a race sled. Looks like the new generation of Yammi production 4-stoke to me. BTW, am I the only one thinking it looks a lot like a Doo Freestyle? LaLaLa

Now one question is, how much bigger or different of a chassis is it over the Phazer?

Last week in the U.P. I was hearing Phazer owners that were not totally happy with them as all day trail sleds! Most said the sleds were not stable enough & was work to ride all day! Off trail jacking around loved them, but on trail not so happy!

Just thinking they may have changed the new sled to be better as far as being more stable!

Well congrats to the blue crew for the win, I'll have to eat crow saying it'll be awhile before they get a podium unless they do alot of work. Well I think they did alot of work because that sled looked totally different than the one in Duluth. Hats off hopefully there will be alot more to come. Hard to touch the torque of these motors down low and out fo the corners.

I would be willing to bet that the bodywork, at least the hood is production 08 stuff. Look at the pic of the sled that is sitting in the race trailer, you can see the molded portion of the hood that is to accept the tuning fork emblem that all our Yamahas share. The only reason they would go through the tooling to make that is for production, I cannot wait to see these new sleds!

Sure does look like an '08 sled. Maybe it's just the angle of the pix or hi-rise sno-x handlebars but the bars seem to be way high in relation to the seat height. I hope Yammie doesn't forget about us old fogie trail cruisers when they transform this into a production sled. A ditch banger version would be cool but so would be a fuelie 136" trail version.

what is this strange looking molding of the sidepanel on the right side, near the chaincase? Hopefully something new in the drivetrain department??

The latest tunnel-version looks a whole lot better then the first one, that's for sure... The braces is a realy nice touch! And with the new seat and plastics it looks like a production-ready machine to me! The first tunnel-version looks like something even I could hack out. LOL

It will be very interesting to see what they have done to the tripple for next year. The current tripple is the best 4-stroke engine they have made to date IMO. And it really looks like the Venture Lite front.... Is that a good thing????

I hope they will be using that rear suspension in a comersial version also... ;)!
