Not really sure what is going on with My sled and looking for advise prior to raking it in to the dealer. Noticed the last two time I ran short little rides with the wife, slow speeds. My warning light indicates a temp sensor. If i stop and let it set for a minute or two the machine turns off. If I let it set for a few minutes and then restart it the light will stay off. ????????? Not really sure what would casue this. Low snow conditions, bubble in the colant hose?

Need some thoughts and ideas guys.......

I have only had that light come on twice since I got my sled, both times were becuase it was warm out (above 35F) and I wasnt getting enough snow into the coolers. What kinda of temperatures are you riding in? and what are the snow conditions like? Also, the slower you are riding the less snow you are throwing into the cooler.

Tempuratue

Both times the sled has shut off it is been in the lower twenties and or the teens for temp. I know the last time I did not have great snow, alot of hard pack and i was jumping off trail as much as possible trying to keep my hyfax cool.

Weather temp was definately not the issue, snow maybe. BNut to go as far as to shut the machine off. ??? Unless it is a built in safety feature......

I'm pretty sure theres a safety feature built in to this sled that when it starts to overheat to a certain point it will shut off until it cools a little. I ride to the edge of the trail at times to keep snow in the skid and whenever we stop if we had been riding for a while I'll jump off and throw some snow on the running boards. I haven't had the light come on again yet. In the past I read on here that some dealers aren't using the correct antifreeze mixture. That when they tested their antifreeze mixture it wasn't what the dealers said it was I guess. The guys on the site here said to use 60/40 I was going to try that b/c I had the light come on a few times last season but haven't had an issue yet since I have been putting snow on the boards when we come to a stop or ride the edge of the trail every now and then.

get the rear heat exchanger it helps

Had the same issue last year with my nytro in very cold, but hard packed conditions.. got the rear heat exchanger put on, problem is gone.. cheap fix too

Ok how bout this one, my sled isnt overheating to the point where the hot light comes on, but its getting hot enought to melt the plastic surround around the exhaust tips in the rear.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hot exhaust is totally different than hot engine temp. Your exhaust is always gonna be hot, so either something isnt fitted right or your exhaust is bent to close to the plastic. Not a motor issue.
