Well, I've "officially" started my 2008 phazer mtx build. I rode this sled stock last year and managed to rack up 2000 km, mostly trouble free I can honestly say that never has sledding been so much fun as when riding this phazer. However, I decided I wanted a little more and, having ridden a nytro mtx, settled on turbocharging the phazer. Unfortunately, the stock 80 hp was enough for me to constantly over ride the suspension and it seemed like it was continuously bottoming out. I decided to put a mtn tamer rear and barkbuster front on. I have just started the tear down and will attempt to do my best to put up pics of the progress. Stock parts that I will be removing will probably be up for sale in the buy/sell forums. Feel free to ask questions or give advice but no bashing or flaming either toward myself or other members. Anyways, here are some early pics.
Bumper, seat and some plastic removed
Test fitting my RSI 9 in riser and backcountry bars
Airbox removed
Sled hanging

How do you like the sled with the steering stabilizer off? I just took mine off when i powdercoated everything and cant wait to try it out.By the way youll love the turbo, next youll want a longer track

You will probably want some better shocks running without the swaybar, I run the fox floats, the apex mtn use the same shocks as the phazer.

If by steering stabilizer you mean sway bar, then yes I would recomend that you take it off. As AK said you will need new shocks or up your preload. I will be putting on a mcx turbo as well but I will not be putting on a longer track and I do not intend to as I enjoy tight trees and jumping more than big straight climbs.

@ ak I assume that with that boost and that amount of work into this sled you will be running race gas?

So are they finally making a rear skid for the Phazer. My Son is about to the point where he is bottoming it out all the time. Kids need mods too
