Hey Guys,
I just bought a pair of used phazers for my wife and myself. When I got them home, both have dead batteries. I tried charging them but they won't take it so i'll be purchasing new ones. No big deal. However, I wanted to hear them run so I used a booster pack to get them running. One of them is running noisy and the oil light is on. I checked the oil tank and the level seems adequate. The previous owner said that they just had fresh oil changes. So my question is: what's with the oil light and the noisy engine? It is possible the battery is completely shot. Would this set off the oil light and cause something not to be functioning properly?
Thanks in advance for any light you can provide.

Is it the low oil light or the low oil pressure light?

Here's a thread that talks about this same problem on a Nytro.

Thanks for the input.
I went to confirm which light it was. There were lots of warning lights on. I switched the battery out and it's all good now. There must be a dead short in the original battery that was causing all those warnings.
I'm sure I'll have more questions though. This is my first Yamaha and first four stroke. Wow is it different!

I know you'll love the Phazers. Make sure you syphon out the old gas and let the engine warm up before shutting down and all will be good. If you find it tippy, there are adjustments you can make to the suspension to help. Lots of info on this site.

You had a low oil pressure warning light and the engine was noisy, you changed the battery out and everything is good now? Why was the engine making noise?
if you do an oilchange and change filters it takes a little while to get the oil through the system properly, could have been that I guess.. Butr it should only be for a very short persiod that you can hear some ratteling
