Anyone care to comment about the plastic bushings that Yamaha uses on their products in regards to if they are teflon-impregnated and that they should not come in contact with grease?
Reason I ask is I have a Yamaha FJR motorcycle and while I had the windscreen links off the bike, on re-assembly I applied a small film of grease to the "plastic" bushings and washers used on the pivot points.
It was mentioned that grease would cause these bushings to break down, any truth to it?
Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem.
The noteworthy text in the following link is: In all cases, including dry running, an initial lubrication at the time of installation should be made. The break-in properties will be greatly improved, and the working life will be lengthened.
