So I'm halfway through changing the track and I notice some movement in the suspension where the rear pivot mount is and voila, a cracked rail!
The Question is what do I do now? I need my sled for sure the 15, 16 17 and 18 of February! I also had a rear wheel spacer/washer fall out that was broke in half! WTF!!!
Does anyone have one? It's the Right side from the back of sled
Desperately seeking to be Re Railed
Somebody please help! It's the sled in my sig.

Did it break on the mount hole,or wheel mount? Do you have a pic.

It cracked down to the bolt hole where the rear part of the suspension bolts to
Does this help? If not I'll see what I can do about a picture

Same thing happened to mine last year, in the same exact place.

I had it warrantied, because it was the end of the year. If you have no warranty and want it fixed fast, I would have it welded if you have someone good in your area.

If it's broke like the pic above, that's is an easy fix. Take a piece of 1\4" 6061 aluminum,or steel about 4" long and about the same hieght. bolt it over the orig. hole, and then bolt it on each side, then drill out the orig. hole and install a longer bolt. Be sure to grind a little taper for a tight fit against the bottom rib. that should get you by for the weekend.

Good thing is the rail is only about $110.00 CDN. which is not bad if not warranty! I do believe that it is just the rail, all the stiffeners and extra pieces need to come off the old one and re riveted or bolted to the new one! I think i will just get it welded and see how that works first

Welding won't be enough. When you weld aluminum it softens it. Make a gusset and weld that on,your best bet.
My 07 Attack GT had both rails cracked exactly like this. Had to fight tooth and nail with Yammi to get it covered, even though I have the 5-year Y.E.S. warranty. Yammi service advisor claimed "abuse" and did not want to cover it.
I was putting on new hyfax on my wifes 07 Attak GT last night, and guess what? Same exact crack starting from the bolt head on both sides. Didn't notice them when I briefly looked a couple months ago, the cracks are real small, gotta look hard to see 'em.
Both our sleds only have 3,500 miles on them.
What is going on here? She only weights 135lb and rarely gets any air under the track, and does not pound moguls. You tellin me she "abuses" her sled?
The crack originates from where the "washer" built into the bolt head digs into the aluminum rail.
Dunno what to do now, sledding season is here, supposed to take 'em back up north to the cabin tomorrow and go riding.
BTW list price here is now $405 for both rails. WTF?
Think some kind of add-in plate could be a permanent solution, and prevent my new rails from doing this again?

Had a similar problem with a doo rail a couple of years ago. I ended up calling a local dock company that installs and prefabs aluminum docks. Depending on what you have in your area this may be a solution. they usually have a large selection of various sized pieces of aluminum and are typical slow this time of year till spring. Should be able to fix up your old rail quick .Might get you running. Pounded that old doo good and never let go at the weld
Go luck

It can be warrentied.
Mine cracked EXACTLY like those above and I made some stainless guessets that are now on my new rails to keep that from happening. I went half a season with crack rails and about 2500kms with the gussets and no problem!
If there is interest, I will post pics of the gussets.
