Yesterday I had the sled out all morning - over 100 kms with no ice build up on the heat exhanger. We did another 80 kms on groomed trails and I had to stop every 10 minutes to clear the slush from the heat exchanger.
I did get the overheating light once and the slush was just packed between the track and the heat exchanger. From then on I just stopped often to clear it out. I ordered the rad fan for my GT from the dealer but he told me the only way to prevent the slush from building up is to upgrade to a 1.5" track.
Does anyone have any other tips? I did a search but found nothing. I do have the rear tunnel closed. This summer I'm going to install a water temp guage so I can keep an eye on it before it overheats.
I was riding with 3 buddies riding Ski Doo's and did they ever rib me and my 4 stroke!
