OK fellas--So my sled has been giving me some gremlins this year but this one made me turn back home today!! So for the last week or soo it seems that once in a while my sled would throw code 36 and bog down but never for more then a second and it was back up and running again. And this only would happen after a good 40-50 miles into the trip. So I talked to the dealer and I did the usuall stuff that goes with finding trying to find the problem; Changed plugs, cleaned the coils, and put delectric grease on them. Still having the same problem. I switched around the coils and I still get the same code 36. I checked the wiring harness and found a small spot on the ground (red) wire that was exposed but the wire was good and shiny and I took the harness up to a local garage and had it throughly tested and all was well there. So next I took off the powercommander 3 and the ignition module to see if that made any diffrence--IT DID!!! It made it worse!! It was actually running on 3 cylinders on and off yet it never threw a code!!! So the question is am I barking up the wrong tree with the electrical issue or is this fuel related??? My riding buddy mentioned my problem to a fello Apex owner and the first thing that poped out of his mind was that maybe cylinder #4 wasn't getting enough fuel at mid RPMS. The sled has 6300 miles on it--what are your thoughts???

Just started with this same problem. Swapped coils with 3 & 4. Still throws a 36. Going to tear it down tonight. If I can't find anything I will take it to the dealer. If you figure something out, let me know.
Sounds like an old car issue i had years ago<it ended up being the ECU.its looks to be electrical issue somewhere, the injectors will spray when told,heelingcowboy1 you took of your powercommander and it made it worse, and mdkuni swapped coils and same code36? mdkuni do you have a powercommander?

Yes same code 36 when the coils were swapped. No Powercommander.

Call me crazy but one of my riding buddys told my issue to a fello apex owner and the first thing that came to his mind was that cylinder #4 was'nt getting enough fuel!!! So I took my sled up to the basement to work on it(it ran like crap all the way to the house---like cylinder #4 would come on and then off and then back on) and I took the fuel rail of the throttle bodys to see if I could clean the injectors (nothin' doing by the way)and for some unknown reason when I put it all back together it ran like a champ!! Don't know if there was crap in the rail or if I dislodged something in the injectors but I rode it a good 40 miles yesterday and had 0 issues!!! Let me know what your dealer finds out because I checked all the ground connections on the main harness and couldn't find a thing wrong with it!!!!

If I let it sit for awhile mine will run good too. I think I got 50 miles in last time before it acted up again. I wouldn't be confident that your issue is resolved.

Sounds like a wiring issue on that injector.
Well count me in...I have that exactly same problem. I Guess I will have to tear it apart and inspect piece by piece including wires.
Lot of fun to come...I guess that is the price to pay to keep those old babies!

Here is the fail safe from the manual I have no idea what the heck it is talking about:
Cut the injection of cylinder in the same group with the cylinder that the error is detected. Example, when the #1 cylinder is defective, cut the injection of #1 and #4 cylinders. Turn on the power to the air induction solenoid to always cut-off the aire
