Deal with those as you see fit... let the cards fall where they may.
There are far more people that throughly enjoy this site & get alot of useful & helpful information.
I am very thankful for meeting alot of you thru the rides...
I look forward every year to going on these rides, talking with new freinds that i've made along the way.
There is so much helpful information that you can get from this site - that I never would have been able to get on my own.

I sure am. I did alot of research on my new sled backing up my decision before i bought it, and straightening out my xtx before i ever rode it.
I learned of tech bulletins and recalls months before yami told me.

I have friends that ride other brands and NONE of them have a web site to visit even close to the depth and quality of this site. This site is truely a massive wealth of knowledge.

the culture of the internet brings out the worst in some people - they hide behind the anonymity of the internet and forget about all politeness and sense you would have in a face to face interaction. add on top of that the general entitlement attitude that is spreading through society like plague and you get the needy, whiney types that complain about everything. they think they deserve (a word that should be stricken from the english language) a forum to express their idiocy and then cry it's their right when someone calls foul. this or any other forum is not a democracy - it is someones property that they thankfully allow us to use for entertainment and knowledge building. i say if someone gets out of line, the owner, moderator or any one else should be able to ban them, track their ip address for further attempts at changing a user name. i have nothing against newbs, but i see a lot of bashing from users with small post counts - a lot like ebay feedback system - most negative feedback comes from users with less than 10 feedback. i wont even sell to someone with less than 10.

i'm glad this site is here, keep it going.

For 20 years i rode every other brand and when they broke i scratched my head and tried to fix them best i could . Usually ended up getting rid of them for stupid problems. Around five years ago i bought a sweet Viper S and stumbled across TY. WOW!!! , what a wealth of knowledge we have literally at our fingertips here. I actually learned what makes a sled tick from this site. Suspension setups , clutching , how real maintenance is done . How to see a problem "before" it becomes a problem . I don't rely on the "stealership" or some guy across town that owned a few sleds 30 years ago to fix my sled any longer . I trust the people here on TY like friends and family because of the countless times they've gotten me out of a jam and all they needed was a thank you . like friends are suppose to do. I will severely miss this site if its lost along with many others. Please don't shut it down over a few bad apples, this is in my opinion the most informative , friendly ,
thorough and well run forum on the net hands down..

I know some of you have already but if you would like to show your appreciation to Tom for this site and the admins, mods that work so hard on your behalf by VOLUNTEERING their time they are not paid one penny. You can become a VIP if your not one already that helps out the site and shows your willing to help out the site that gives you so much. Or you can donate to the 10th anniverary project that has been started to specifically show Tom and the mods how much we care about this site and appreciate their time they spend to keep this running as well as it does. You have to admit this site is a great site without for the most part all the bashing and name calling you see on other snowmobile sites. If you take in to account all the knowlege and help one has at their keyboards ready to use at any time for 10 years already now and if you have ever fixed your own sled with the help of someone here or got a real good deal on a used part then you really should be donating and or at least become a VIP member to help the site that helps you.

Tom this site is by far the very best and most useful I have ever come across when it comes to finding solutions to any issue I have run into. The amount of wealth and knowledge that all the members are willing to share has gone a long way in helping, and if the sites downfall is because off a few rotten eggs that can't stop bashing and hating on each other that would be to bad. Obviously these few people have never heard the phrase "If you can't say anything nice, DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!"

I had the great pleasure to meet Tom at the Wausau grass drags and I was very impressed the way he carries himself. Currently I am a Moderator on another site that does not compete with TY it is a family
site for snowmobiling. Whenever there is a question asked about Yamaha sleds on the other sites the answer almost all ways Is go to TY those boys know what they are doing. This site was what convinced me to buy my current sled I have now, witch mite I add I love the sled this is way I’m a VIP on here.
Tom thank you for all your time and thanks for this wonderful site you have and by far the smoothest run site out of all of them. Keep the faith. Rob

I'm new here also, and found this site from someone's suggestion, and find it to be outstanding.
I have years of experience with web forums, specifically automotive types, and we've seen this kind of "stuff" before. One of the sites I am part of has been around since the mid 1990's. We hear from people how we're "heavy handed" and all that blah blah blah. We stay the course. That's what you guys should do here as well; if people don't like it, they can go elsewhere! Don't worry about what they say on other sites, they can bitch all they want. What we find is people will say how much they hate the site, but the funny thing is, they ALWAYS come back! They either make up a new fake name or they lay in the shadows and lurk for awhile and then worm their way back into discussions, but this time they follow the rules/format.
We've even seen groups of "troublemakers" go start a competing site and try to harvest members. They have a little sucess for awhile, then it dies off and they all wander back to the "real deal"
And this site is the real deal for Yamaha fans.

Keep up the good work and stay the course. The people that matter will stay. The ones that don't can GTFO.
You should be proud. This site is an EXCELLENT resource and VERY well run! Thanks to everyone who has a hand in keeping this site operational as well as the great people who share their valuable experience with us newbs.

I can't say enough about this website (and how professionally it's operated). I've saved a bunch with all that I have learned from other TY'ers. It's been said before and I'll say it again, this site ROCKS!

Met a bunch of great folks at the TY Giveaway function last year and have my reservations already for this year.

A kick in the shin to those PIA's that are creating havoc.

That works both ways Larry. Yamaha owners also know they can come here for valuable info that is not "Yamaha Propaganda" and that can influence people's buying decisions as well. I just bought a bunch of "Yamaha" branded merchandise at Port Yamaha. The factory sees the benefit of that purchase. Plus it was all I could do to not trade my RX1 in for a new sled. I had to act like a horse with blinders on and leave that showroom ASAP.

And that same "internet power" can work in other ways as well. For example, a website I frequent that caters to Ford Mustangs was threatened with trademark infringement just for using the words "ford' and "mustang"
The backlash from thousands and thousands of people (this site has over 120,000 members and has been around for more than 14 years) made them (Ford) realize that it would be very bad publicity to carry thru with "the plan" and they backed off.

If Yamaha shut this site down, people would just find somewhere else to bash them, if that is what they were trying to suppress. Somebody somewhere would start a Facebook page of "Yamahaters". You can't stop the public. IMHO, there's MUCH more benefit for Yamaha with this site being around than if it were not here.
